Kung Fu Panda 4: Jack Black and Awkwafina remind us why this is a must-see next month

Who says action-packed violence and overly sexually content is what’s igniting box office sales in 2024? Turns out the much-needed Kung Fu Panda 4 is just weeks away from loading theaters up with popcorn-happy attendees looking to turn up with some animated fun.

Starting today, tickets are now available on Fandango for Kung Fu Panda 4, coming to theaters on Friday, March 8, 2024.

Excited to see Po again? Well, Fandango has fans covered with an exclusive Big Ticket interview with Jack Black and Awkwafina where they discuss the legacy of the franchise and what makes it so popular with fans. We also learn new details about the film’s story and characters and hear exclusively from Black on the unique way he physically prepares to record the voice of Po.

The stars break down some fun new details on the film, including:  

  • Black sings some famous hits that he thinks would be on Po’s playlist including, “The Rhythm of the Night” by Corona, “I Gotta Feeling” by The Black Eyed Peas, and “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting” by Elton John 

  • Awkwafina mentions how she would like to see a Leemar as the villain if they make a Kung Fu Panda 5, whereas Black would like to see his character face a centipede 

  • Awkwafina confirms that she and Black recorded some scenes in the booth together 

According to Fandango’s “2024 Most Anticipated Movies Survey,” surveying over 8,000 ticket-buyers, fans voted Kung Fu Panda 4 as one of the most anticipated family movies of the year. Those surveyed also voted Jack Black as Po as one of the most anticipated heroes of the year.

Additionally, Fandango put together a list of the Top 25 DreamWorks Movies Ranked by the Tomatometer, which includes all three Kung Fu Panda movies, all of which have over 80% on Rotten Tomatoes. They are also all available to watch on Vudu
