Christina Aguilera's back-back with Ozuna and decodes 'Santo' on Apple Music

Who doesn’t love the legendary Christina Aguilera? The veteran crooner is back in action with help from Latin superstar Ozuna on their new ‘Santo’ banger. The crooner kicks back with Apple Music to dish on what folks should expect from the newly released anthem.

Christina Aguilera decodes what ‘Santo’ is all about

In a new interview with Sandra Pena on Dale Play! Radio through Apple Music, Aguilera digs deep into what ‘Santo’ is really all about. She credits her music biz grind and love for having fun as key inspirations behind the song’s creation.

“I've been in the business a long time. To me, it should be fun, it should really just feel good. And that's what I loved about the song, it's less about doing something for a hits. I mean, it's always great when that happens, when things happen, but to me, music needs to be felt with the heart, it should be something that you love doing and that when you hear it, it's like, “Oh my God that's going to be so fun to perform live, on a stage,” being able to connect with your fans, letting them sing the hook with you. So those are all great things. And then the video was so amazing too, coming and bringing that whole thing to life. When you hear something and you're like, “Oh my God, I can't wait to do that on stage is when you know you have something special.”” (Dale Play! Radio on Apple Music)

Aguilera reveals how she linked with Ozuna

The relationship with Ozuna didn’t just happen overnight. Christina dug into how the label played a key role in the two powerful forces coming together.

“GALE wrote that song. And as soon as I heard it, I was like, "Oh my God, I'm so excited to have this song and be able to give this to fans.” But then, Ozuna came onto it whenever I'd recorded it and everything in Miami, when I'd gone down there. And then, the label was like, "Oh, we have a surprise for you." I was already back in LA and everything. And they were like, "Check your email." So, I look it up. I freaked out whenever I heard what Ozuna brought to the table on it and what he did to signature voice and just everything he brought to the table really lifted the song and made me fall even more in love with it. So thank you Ozuna for doing that with me.” (Dale Play! Radio on Apple Music)

Christina drops ‘La Fuerza’ to the masses

After 21 years, Aguilera has come through with her Spanish-spoken studio effort to the masses. The EP comes with six anthems and will be followed up with more tunes.

“It's the first of three chapters. When I went to Miami for the beginning of last year I just fell in love with music all over again, and how can you not. I just dove really deep into the world of the best Latin producers and musicians and singers and writers and I just really just let myself go and it didn't feel like any ego involved and any awkwardness, it just felt so good. It truly was a labor of love. And so we ended up with so much material that I was like what are we going to do, we have enough for like three albums. So we decided to condense some of it and release it into three different chapters, which you will continue to hear into 2022. There's more to come, but ‘La Fuerza’ is the first chapter of three different musical episodes.” (Dale Play! Radio on Apple Music)
