Joell Ortiz is giving everyone his 'Autograph' today

Slaughterhouse’s Joell Ortiz has never slowed down his pen game. Instead, the hip-hop veteran continues to come through with anthems especially his newly released Autograph studio effort.

Joell Ortiz is giving everyone ‘Autograph’ today

The hip-hop lyricist has officially hit the green light on dropping his most personal solo project since his unforgettable The Brick: Bodega Chronicles album way back in 2007.

Brooklyn Rap Royalty, ¼ of Slaughterhouse, Joell Ortiz, returns with his deepest and most personal solo-album to date with Autograph.  Autograph includes appearances and production from Sheek Louch, CyHi The Prynce, KXNG Crooked, Salaam Remi, Apollo Brown, The Heatmakerz and Namir Blade among others.

Ortiz has since dished on the motivation behind getting super personal on his new album.

“My creative process is pretty simple.  I write to the music that moves me and speak my truth.  That’s never wavered.  Once I feel like I got all of my thoughts out, I put the pen down and listen to everything in its entirety.  That’s usually where I figure out things like title and artwork” Joell laments.  “After listening to this body of work, I realized that I shared a lot of personal feelings, stories and ideas.  Everything is authentic.  This is signature me.  Hence, the title.  Autograph is an album from me to you.  The old me, the current me, all of me.  As usual, I hope you enjoy.”

The ‘Autograph’ tracklisting

While it’s all Joell from top to bottom, he does secure a few notable collaborations. In addition to major production courtesy of Detroit’s Apollo Brown and rap veteran Salaam Remi, Mr. Yaowa pulls through with Sheek Louch, CyHi The Prynce and Slaughterhouse’s KXNG Crooked on a few tracks.
