Rosemarie & Ryan Tedder: The revamped Faith Evans 'Love Like This' classic gets a modern vibe

It’s tough to touch classics and put a fresh spin on them but when you’re Rosemarie and you have the passion of someone like Ryan Tedder working alongside you, it’s only right to put out a revamped Faith Evans ‘Love Like This’ type classic.

Rosemarie & Ryan Tedder’s ‘Love Like This’ is must-hear

It’s more than just a must-hear tune, it’s all types of repeat mode goals with Rosemarie’s signature sound and pitch perfect voice with those signature 90’s sounds Evans created for her unforgettable tune. Adding a Spanish mix too? Tough.

Rising Afro-Latinx R&B artist, Rosemarie has joined forces with 3x GRAMMY® winning producer and artist, Ryan Tedder (of OneRepublic), to release an exciting collaboration that reimagines Faith Evans’ smash 1998 single “Love Like This.” The pair remixed the song for both an English language (“Love Like This”) and Spanish language version (“Este Amor”). Tedder created two upbeat and electrifying productions for the songs — including reggaeton elements for the Spanish language version for added flair — giving Rosemarie ample room to flex her signature melody stylings.

The revamped 90s classic performed by Rosemarie and produced by Ryan Tedder proved to be a match made in sonic heaven. Speaking on the reimagining of Faith Evans classic, Rosemarie had this to say:

“Faith Evans is an icon. “Love like this” is such an iconic song, so I was more than elated by the opportunity to record my own rendition! When I heard the production by Ryan Tedder, I was excited to be able to step outside my comfort zone and rise to the challenge. I had so much fun vocal producing and finding ways to add my own essence to the song.

It was also rewarding to reimagine the song in Spanish. Latin music is such a huge part of my culture and identity, and now as I get further in my career, my artistry. I felt honored to work with the talented Jean Rodriguez, who helped bring everything together. I truly enjoyed the experience and hope you enjoy what we made!” — Rosemarie

Need to learn more about Rosemarie? Want to keep tabs on her glow up? Say less.

Raised in a Dominican and Puerto Rican household, her father a DJ and her late mother a singer, Rosemarie learned the beauty and power of music at a young age. An avid journal writer growing up, Rosemarie used written words to express her emotions which nurtured a natural songwriting instinct.

Encouraged to post live covers and join in singing challenges, Rosemarie caught the ear of  Bird of Bird Vision Entertainment who signed her to Interscope Records and released a string of modern R&B gems like “03 Love” featuring NOLA legend Juvenile and the sultry full-throated jam “Henny Talk'' followed. The tracks went on to appear on her label debut EP, Sinnergy (2021), which landed on multiple best R&B picks that week including Billboard and Okayplayer and caught the attention of R&B Queen herself, Alicia Keys who cosigned the rising artist for Keys Soulcare. With her songwriting serving as a diary into the hearts of the dreamers, Rosemarie treats soul music as a sacred space.

Earlier this year, Rosemarie released her sophomore EP, Rock Paper Scissors(2023), seamlessly blending her arresting vocals and emotive lyricism on songs like “Fool’s Gold,” “Breaking,” including a first, English-Spanish, reggaeton inspired track “Aprovecha.” Her ability to pen evocative music that withstand the test of time (and arresting creative visuals) has anointed the Los Angeles native as Complex’ 2023 “R&B Artist to Watch.” A huge year ahead of her, Rosemarie intends to stay on the radar with live performances and more music that stretches the boundaries of R&B and childhood influences of hip hop, reggaeton and more.
