Here's what you need to know about AMC+'s 'Gangs of London' season 2 premiere
The amount of quality content heading to streaming giants is pretty insane these days. While I am a proud AMC Theaters A-List subscriber, I am finding myself using time typically allocated for the theaters to clocking in some amazing content on my digital outlets including Hulu, Peacock, Parmount+, HBO Max and especially AMC+ in 2022 with series like ‘Gangs of London’ heating back up for another solid season.
AMC+ is really doing it for the culture more than ever. Simply said? I caved in and secure an annual membership - ads-free - just to consume all of the ‘Tales From The Walking Dead’ series - just think zombies meets ‘Black Mirror’ and ‘Twilight Zone.’ While I have not finished season one, I have a new mission on deck now with ‘Gangs of London’ slated for a second season launch this Thursday, November 17 on AMC+.
While I’ll do my best not to read the nitty gritty, details about the new season follow with descriptions of the first couple of episodes, too.
The return of the critically acclaimed original series Gangs of London, starring Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù (Humans, Mr. Malcolm’s List), will debut its highly anticipated second season on Thursday, November 17th on AMC+, AMC Networks’ premium streaming bundle, with two episodes. Following the premiere, one episode of the eight-part season will debut Thursdays on AMC+.
EPISODE DESCRIPTIONS:
Episode 1 (November 17):
London has changed. The elusive Investors have installed a new ruling force in London, but the old guard are not playing by the rules and brutal gang leader Koba (Waleed Zuaiter) goes to terrifying lengths to smoke out the rebels. Meanwhile, Elliot (Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù) is being forced to kill in far flung locations to keep his father safe, but is soon drawn back into London’s underworld once more…
Episode 2 (November 17):
Billy Wallace (Brian Vernel) is living his dream life in Italy but is lured back to London to seek revenge on Elliot. He is determined to make the man who murdered his brother pay, but can he go through with it? Meanwhile, pressure mounts on Koba as more of his associates are killed and he tightens the screws to stamp out rebellion.
About Gangs of London S2:
In the second season, a new, darker era of chaos and turbulent power struggles comes to London. One year after the death of Sean Wallace and the violent reckonings of season one, the map and soul of the city has been redrawn – the surviving Wallaces are scattered, the Dumanis broken and estranged, and ex-undercover cop Elliot Finch (Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù, Humans, Mr. Malcolm’s List) is now being forced to work for the Investors. As the Investors look down on a city sliding into chaos, they decide enough is enough and bring in reinforcements to restore control. Old favorites and new players fight back against the new order, forcing sworn enemies to work together and family members to betray each other.
