Polo G: The much-needed 'Hood Poet' touches down next month

Chicago rapper Polo G is gearing up to invade more than colleges and workplace AirPods in the coming weeks. The hip-hop heavyweight’s much-needed new Hood Poet studio effort is coming and has your post-summer goals lined up.

Polo G’s new ‘Hood Poet’ album arrives September 15

Barring any setbacks, Polo’s newest studio project drops in mid-September. From signature collaborations to his priceless rap flows, it’s all eyes on G next month.

Polo G has announced his highly anticipated new album HOOD POET to be released September 15th via Columbia Records. The multi-platinum Chicago native revealed the news with a 24-hour live stream painting of the HOOD POET mural leading into the premiere of the cinematic album announcement trailer, WATCH HERE. Polo worked alongside producer Southside on HOOD POET for what is Polo’s most personal project yet. With the acronym: He Overcame Obstacles During Pain Or Emotional Trauma, the album reflects everything Polo has been through grappling with the effects of mental health and trauma while doing everything he can to break the cycle and work through the complexities of healing. 

Polo began teasing the album at Rolling Loud Miami handing out t-shirts with lyrics along with HOOD POET lyric posters popping up in major cities directing fans to www.thehoodpoet.com

 “Barely Holdin’ On,” the lead single from HOOD POET will be released this Friday August 18th. Polo once again teams up with RAPSTAR music video director Arrad for the riveting music video which premieres on Friday in line with the song release.
