9lives: It's a dark and scary glow in the 'NUK3' music video

Forget waiting until October for the Halloween vibes to glow up. It’s all eyes on rap crew 9lives, Luci4 and LAZER DIM 700 in their hard-hitting ‘NUK3’ music video.

The song goes hard but it’s the dark and late night presentation in the new video. Embrace the flex.

Following last month's high-profile collaboration with skaiwater and Lil Nas X on the remix of the former's track "light!" (5M Streams), multi-hyphenate artist/producer and torchbearer of the Sigilkore sound, 9lives, has just shared his new single "NUK3" (feat. Luci4 and Lazer Dimm 700). A rage-ready anthem defined by clever bar work and thunderous production, the track bridges the gap between the dark underworld of Sigilkore internet culture and Atlanta's burgeoning underground rap scene. Fusing elements of Trap, Cloud Rap, Hyperpop, and Electronic music into his own supernatural sound, New Zealand native 9lives has been credited with introducing the Sigilkore sound to North America – accumulating over 600 Million Streams through monstrous collabs like “I LOVE YOU HOE“ with Odetari (350M Streams) and "Go (Xtayalive 2)" (200M+ Streams). With dark aesthetics that harken back to his gaming and anime influences, 9lives cultivates a sonic world in which bass-boosted 808s and distorted synths are mashed together into an explosive sound that’s already caught the attention of Rico Nasty, JELEEL!, Kanii, Odetari, and even Trippie Redd – producing “Popular” off the latter's latest LP. Following January’s release of “MULTIMILLIONAIRE” with Trippie Redd & Odetari (5M+ Streams) and April's "CANADA" with jnhygs"NUK3" (feat. Luci4 and Lazer Dimm 700) marks his third release of 2024 as 9lives continues to shine a light on the flourishing Sigilkore scene while pushing the boundaries of genre.

"I was deep in the Soundcloud realm listening to a bunch of underground grimey records, and I was inspired to make something grungy," 9lives explains. "Luci4 brings a dark evil kind of sound — he's the forefather of Sigilkore, so this is his realm — and Lazer Dimm 700 brings that carefree Atlanta swag." Since emerging onto the music scene less than two years ago, 9lives has already built an impressive career for himself as the leading face of the chronically-online Sigilkore scene. Recent single “CANADA” found him linking up with experimental dance artist jnhygs for another energetic track that followed their first collaboration, “XTAYALIVE” (140M+ Streams), which became a staple across TikTok and gaming edits on social media. “NUK3" (feat. Luci4 and Lazer Dimm 700) showcases the futuristic sound that 9lives is pioneering, serving as a avant-garde soundtrack for Gen Z.
