RVSHVD saddles up to 'Hit Different' in his new music video

Take some Lil Nas X and dabble Travis Scott with Lil Wayne and you might start getting a sample of what hip-hop country star RVSHVD is serving up in 2023. The musician comes through with his new ‘Hit Different’ anthem and instead of just going the audio route, he completely wilds out with the full-fledged music video.

From the cowboy dancing to the turning up moments, it’s all must-see for RVSHVD. Peep the details and keep scrolling to see him light up the screen.

Willacoochee, Georgia’s RVSHVD who self-proclaims he’s "a little bit country and a little bit street" returns with "Hit Different" to exemplify just that. Growing up, RVSHVD studied the songwriting of Lil Wayne, Eminem, and Tupac. He was a self-taught R&B singer and then he heard a track by Keith Urban. "Hit Different" describes how these influences still are prevalent in RVSHVD’s sound, especially in the chorus where he sings "Alpines bumping dirty south hip hop; Mix in with some country boy Rick Ross; Throw in a little Lil Wayne with a little bit of Travis Tritt; Yea I hit different".

"Hit Different is about how life is in South Georgia. A lot of people back home will relate to it. People in the South have their own version of what "country" means, and this is ours." - RVSHVD

The official music video, directed by Travis Knight, interweaves RVSHVD’s performances backed by "Que Dog" steppers from Alabama and various recording artists from country, rock, and rap who are all trailblazing their own individual paths or ‘hitting different’.

Need more co-signs? Gotcha.

"Hit Different" comes after "Cottonmouth" and the rock mix featuring Spencer Charnas from Ice Nine Kills as well as "Raised Up" which was #1 on the iTunes country chart the full week of release.
