YhapoJJ: The 'Jeepers Creepers' music video is all about cuffing the hustle

There’s no doubting when it comes to fire tunes, you can lean on hip-hop artist YhapoJJ to come through clutch. With cuffing season going strong, it’s clear Yhapo is focused on the non-stop grind instead of looking to cuff a bae or two.

The cinematic flex is wild and doesn’t hold back. Get caught up in the visual and celebrate the newly released Before T.L.Y. album, too.

Hailed by Rolling Stone as the future of music in 2024, Yhapojj, one of Simple Stupid Records' premier acts, has just shared his highly-anticipated project Before T.L.Y., alongwith accompanying video for "Jeepers Creepers"––out now via Simple Stupid Records. In the suspenseful "Jeepers Creepers" video, Yhapojj avoids calls and texts from his past, he serenades his listeners over hazy-hypnotic production, grappling with priorities and the crossroads of growth––"I've never seen this much money bitch how the fuck I'm 'posed to act the same",––in the end it appears his past may have caught up with him. "Jeepers Creepers" is a grail that has had hardcore fans clamoring for an official release since the snippet was shared earlier this year. Before T.LY. (Thanks Li Yhap) is Yhapojj'ssecond full-length release of 2024, following up this spring's critically acclaimed P.S. Fuck You (6.9 from Pitchfork). The new nine-track project includes features from Benji Blue Bills, Nino Paid, RRoxket and NDO Dee, and is mainly produced by AK. Before T.LY. is a cohesive project, teasing a new path for the rising star to close out a breakthrough year. The production is a lush playground for Yhapojj's animated delivery and auto-tune drenched vocals as he explores themes of pain, love, triumph, and uncertainty.

Since his Apple Music ‘Top Albums’ charting EP, Evolution of Xur, Yhapojj has ascended through the ranks of Hip-Hop’s new-wave, being named one of OGM’s ‘Artists to Watch in 2024’. In 2024 he developed his live performance through a run of sold-out of shows in Atlanta, Los Angeles, New York (where Yhapojj brought out Trippie Redd and performed alongside artists like Bear1Boss and Marlon DuBois), and Restless Fest. Ahead of releasing Before T.LY. Yhapojj shared a flurry of singles such as Flock, Patchmade and recent collab with Nino Paid on last month's "Moshpit", which was praised by both Pitchfork and Stereogum. With P.S. Fuck You and now Before T.LY.,Yhapojj is continuing to push the boundaries of what Hip-Hop can sound like with his idiosyncratic, melody-driven sound and refreshing emotional venerability. 2024 has been a catalyst for the Alabama-born artist, finding new sonic frontiers and capturing his generation.
