Darby and the Dead is unexpected fun from start to finish

I never embraced the term and expression ‘chick flicks’ and even though I clearly know what the stereotype for those productions look like, I choose to go with the super professionally used expression of ‘cheesy’ movies - kidding, kidding but when first presented with the opportunity to review Darby & The Dead - let’s just say I wasn’t rushing to the iPad to screen immediately. It’s safe to say if you have a bae, this is for the both of you.

It’s cheesy. There’s no way around it. But cheesy much like the bread can be good if not too much is consumed. Fortunately, Darby & The Dead does a solid job of pushing corniness - er- cheesiness to the brink but never goes overboard.

To save you a swipe or so, let’s get this out of the way:

DATE NIGHT APPROVED.

If you like action and raw, mature humor - well, you should have known better from a film co-signed and in certain areas shown through Disney+ - this isn’t ‘your’ or even ‘my’ type of film but that’s A-OKAY. This is the type of light-hearted, fun cheesiness and quirky to make it a fun night with bae.

More than a chick flick but crowned as a teen comedy, the movie is fun enough to laugh it up and enjoy some playful moments. While you might not load this up if you or your bae are in the mid-20’s and older crowd - the teenage demographic and even early 20’s can appreciate the high school hijinks and types of storylines being presented to get you through nearly two hours of fun moments.
