Fandango: Here's the Top 10 most anticipated holiday movie releases

Is there a better time to embrace cuffing season than getting with bae and watching a fun movie? Fortunately, Fandango is giving you 10 big reasons to look forward to the holiday season with a line-up of must-see flicks to end 2024 with a popcorn bang.

From Marvel Studios’ The Marvels and WISH to the must-see Joaquin Phoenix-starring Napoleon and Ferrari, it’s all types of excitement and fun locked in for the big screen. A huge salute to the Fandango PR team for coming through on the details and stats!

Fandango, the nation’s leading online movie ticketing service, today announced the results of its 2023 Most Anticipated Holiday Movies Survey, heading into what will be an exciting and packed holiday season. Surveying nearly 2,000 ticket buyers, Fandango found that 83% of moviegoers plan to watch at least one wide-release film in theaters this holiday season, with nearly three-quarters of respondents planning to see at least two films in theaters and 66% saying they are interested in seeing newly released movies with their families.

 Top 10 Movies Moviegoers Plan to Purchase on Digital Platforms, such as Vudu, when Available:

  4. Wonka 

  5. Godzilla Minus One 

  6. Napoleon 

  7. Wish

  8. Trolls Band Together

Fandango joined in on the age-old debate of whether certain classic films are considered to be Christmas titles, with 73% and 65% confirming that The Nightmare Before Christmas and Die Hard, respectively, are in fact Christmas films. Moviegoers were also asked questions about their favorite Thanksgiving and Christmas-themed titles. The results included:

For movie lovers looking to get further into the holiday spirit, Rotten Tomatoes will feature a variety of new content in November and December, including watch lists and holiday-themed gift cards. While Vudu, Fandango’s on-demand streaming service, will also join in on the holiday fun with special deals on holiday titles to rent or buy – no subscription required.
