Zac Efron's 'Firestarter' is dropping soon so let's talk about his Top 5 unforgettable roles

Low-key? I’m really excited to go check out Memory today and get some super fresh Date Night or Nahhh… content rocking but in the meantime, why not geek out a little bit with Stephen King’s Firestarter preparing to hit theaters on May 13? Since the flick stars Zac Efron with Ryan Kiera Armstrong, let’s take a look at five unforgettable roles the former High School Musical star bodied throughout his career - courtesy of Team Efron, of course.

In celebration of Firestarter’s theatrical and Peacock release, we’d like to take a look at Zac’s five most memorable roles and would love to know if you'd be interested in sharing these moments with your readers: 

1. High School Musical

Starting with his first major role that landed him fame is his role as Troy Bolton in the classic “High School Musical” back in 2006. Zac plays super star athlete Troy Bolton who finds his true passion other than basketball is singing. He auditions for a role in his high school musical and discovers that it is ok to find a different path than what he was working towards. 

2. Hairspary

In 2007 Zac landed another musical role in Hairspray as Link Larkin, a local heartthrob that stars in the town's local dance show The Corny Collins Show. This film is set in 1962 in the height of the civil rights movement in Baltimore Maryland where the film follows the segregation of Blacks and Whites especially in the entertainment industry.

3. Neighbors

In 2014, Zac Efron stepped away from musicals and joined Seth Rogan in the comedy, Neighbors  where Zac plays Teddy Sanders, the obnoxious fraternity leader who moves in next door from Seth Rogen's character and throws loud outrageous parties and causes chaos. 

4. Extremely Wicked, Shocking Evil and Vile

In 2019 Zac makes a huge leap into the role of Ted Bundy in the film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile where Zac does a phenomenal job playing the notorious serial killer. 

5. Firestarter

In 2022, Zac will star in the adaptation of Stephen King’s novel Firestarter.  He will be taking the role of Andy McGee the father to a child with supernatural abilities.
