Sunday night, multi-platinum recording artist Latto attended the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards wearingLudo Bokuchava on the carpet and Valentino at the after party. She was nominated for Song of the Summer & Hip-Hop Video for hit-track “Big Energy,” Best New Artist, and Video for Good for her song “P*SSY”. She also gave a special performance of “It’s Givin” presented by Burger King and introduced Black Pink’s performance wearing Rey Ortiz.
Ahead of the award show, Latto joined Planned Parenthood releasing a video PSA to stand up for abortion rights. Latto’s track “P*SSY” is a reply to the overturning of Roe v. Wade and sends a strong message about who has the right to control our bodies and decisions. In addition to using her platform to spread awareness about this crisis, Latto is also donating a portion of the proceeds from the song’s release to Planned Parenthood. Latto chose powerful women to collaborate with on this important release – including director Sara Lacombe, who co-directed alongside Latto, and artist Katie McIntyre, who created the cover art.
