Hard bars. Big glowing. Signature flex. What more could you want? Peep the details and get caught up in the visual.
Crafting her unique sound with musical finesse, Philly’s it girl Lay Bankz is rocking her way into our playlists one track at a time. Continuing to strike while the iron is hot, the 19-year-old multihyphenate shares the video for “Good Look,” her latest single out everywhere on streaming platforms. “Good Look” finds Lay in her bag (pun intended) as delivers braggadocious bars to prove she’s untouchable: “Can't nobody check me less it's coming with some commas/I'm a top 10, you ain't not, Iguodala/I'm a boss b*tch, raw b*tch without that condom/I got all this ass and I get it from my momma,” she raps. Directed by Project Strnge, the no-frills video finds Lay celebrating her recent accomplishments in some of her favorite ways: she gets a new tattoo, cooks up new music in the studio, and flexes her Rolling Loud chain from her first-ever festival performance last month.
The new video for “Good Look” arrives on the heels of Lay’s recent success with her single, “Tell Ur Girlfriend.” The bouncy R&B bop is making waves on TikTok, boasting over 413K total creations on the platform, over 21 million streams to date, and recently receiving praise from Billboard. The two recent singles add an exclamation point to Lay Bankz’s exponential growth within the past year, establishing her as one of the most exciting risers to watch. Last year, Lay made a splash with infectious singles like club-pop singles such as “Na Na Na” (44M+ streams) and “Ick” (89M+ streams) and an acclaimed debut EP. Both "Na Na Na" and "Ick" are highlights from Now You See Me, Lay's debut EP which shows her range across 7 memorable tracks (139M+ streams to date). To close out 2023, Lay released "Sloppy Seconds (Ick Pt. 2)," the equally-cheeky follow-up single to "Ick,” generating 19M+ streams since its release in December.
Earlier this year, Lay was named one of Spotify's Most Necessary Artists To Watch for 2024, placed on Complex's list of Rappers To Watch in 2024, REVOLT’s 13 Female Rappers to Watch in 2024 and YouTube's Fifty Deep Music Class of 2024, and walked the Red Carpet at the 2024 Grammy Awards. Stay tuned for more music from Philly’s sweetheart as she dances her way into our hearts, one club banger at a time.
