It’s all types of awesomeness and reasons to love the EA Sports F1 24 experience even more. Giddy up.
Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) announces that EA SPORTS™ F1® 24 releases today all-new technical enhancements that elevate visual quality, gameplay, and player immersion for the PlayStation®5 Pro (PS5® Pro) in the official game of the FIA Formula One World Championship™. With stunning 8K graphics and advanced Ray Tracing, players can get closer to the grid than ever before in one of the most realistic F1® experiences to date.
As the first EA SPORTS title to run at 8K and 60Hz on console, F1® 24 features the latest EGO Engine update to fully utilize the advanced capabilities of PS5 Pro. The game includes an upgraded Quality mode with on-track Ray Tracing running at 4K/60Hz, alongside a Performance mode that doubles the pixel count of PS5 at 4K/120Hz, enhancing the visual clarity and providing a smoother racing experience at higher frame rates.
"By leveraging the power of PS5 Pro and pushing the capabilities of our EGO Engine, we've created an unparalleled level of immersion that transforms the F1 experience for our players. These enhancements push the game’s visual fidelity and performance and demonstrate our commitment to delivering an incredible experience for our players around the world," said Si Lumb, Technical Producer at Codemasters.
EA SPORTS F1® 24 includes several key innovations and features for PS5® Pro, including three new or upgraded graphics modes:
Quality Mode now features on-track Ray Tracing using PSSR. Codemasters leveraged Sony’s PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) to include more Ray Traced techniques on track for increased photorealism while maintaining the 4K/60Hz target.
Performance Mode now runs at 4K (on 120Hz screens only). Players choosing this high frame rate will enjoy a crisp, smooth experience and extra clarity from the increased resolution.
A new Resolution Mode delivers 8K/60Hz (on 8K screens only). Resolution mode also features Ray Traced Dynamic Diffuse Global Illumination (DDGI) on track. EGO’s full suite of RT DDGI, AO, reflection and shadow effects are enabled in 8K/30Hz for cutscenes, replay Flashback and photo modes.
The F1® 24 PS5 Pro update coincides with the worldwide release of the new console.
Starting November 11*, F1® 24 players across all platforms, including PS5 Pro, will receive upgrades to Art Materials, enhancing the game's art, shader, and denoising technology. These improvements will benefit all game modes, updating trackside elements such as sponsor boards, and barriers. Additionally, shader tweaks will produce sharper reflections and a more realistic appearance, particularly in rainy conditions. The enhanced denoiser, a crucial set of algorithms used in Ray Tracing, will generate cleaner images from simulated light in real time.
EA SPORTS F1® 24 is available now across PlayStation® 5, PS5® Pro, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation®4, Xbox One, and PC via EA App, Epic Games Store, and Steam. To keep up-to-date with the latest EA SPORTS F1® game news and information, visit the Formula 1® game website and follow its social channels.
EA Sports F1: If you had EA Play, you would already be losing your mind over this must-play racing game
Keeping it 100? I’m in love with how much adrenaline is packed into the newly launched EA Sports F1 24. I’ve played last year’s edition and while I loved it, something about learning through taking L’s and coming up short in some major races turned me into a racing fanatic and oh yes, having EA Play also helps give myself and fellow Attackers a solid early jump on new titles like today’s freshly launched EA Sports F1 24.

I first fell in love with EA Play way back in 2021 and for a monthly fee or a simple one-time purchase of $29.99/annual on PlayStation or having it included in my Xbox GamePass Ultimate plan - I quickly learned the pay-off of having hours of trial gaming before making any plunge to drop full price on standard, deluxe and ultimate editions of titles - with the discount, too. So just as a reminder of how awesome EA Play is - the gaming goals were ready to go as early as this past Tuesday, May 28. The details don’t lie.
Starting today, EA Play* members can get a headstart on driving like the greatest in EA SPORTS™ F1® 24. A 5-hour early access trial is available now, days ahead of release! Separately, EA Play Pro members now have unlimited access to the Champions Edition of the game on PC, which includes special events with unlockable rewards, 18,000 PitCoins, a VIP Podium Pass and much more.
The official video game of the 2024 FIA Formula One World Championship™, F1® 24 features an overhauled Career mode and the all-new EA SPORTS Dynamic Handling. Play as your hero and build on their existing stats and reputation, bring back legendary icons from the past to continue their F1® legacy, or play as yourself and climb the ranks as an F1® or F2™ rookie.
All EA Play and EA Play Pro members will receive recurring member rewards including a monthly 5,000 XP boost – on top of all of the other exciting monthly rewards for fan-favorite EA games. Members also receive special member-only content, access to select new-release EA games and instant access to a collection of EA’s best-loved series and top titles via the Play List. Plus, members also save 10% on their purchases of EA digital content (including PitCoin!).
For EA Play Pro members, the Champions Edition’s numerous bonuses include:
Special events with unlockable rewards
18,000 PitCoins
1x VIP Podium Pass
2x New My Team Icons
F1® World Bumper Pack
McLaren, Williams, Alpine, & Haas 2024 liveries, plus the McLaren & Alpine F1® esports liveries immediately in Time Trial in F1®23.
Mercedes AMG F1, Red Bull Racing, Visa Cash App RB, Aston Martin and Kick Sauber liveries immediately in Time Trial in F1® 23.
The McLaren & Alpine F1® esports liveries in F1® 24 when the game launches.

In addition, the cars of all 10 teams have been meticulously recreated using detailed CAD data, coupled with Ray-Traced Dynamic Diffuse Global Illumination technology to enhance lighting, shadows, and reflections. Advancements in 2024 also include improved driver appearances, thanks to full hair rendering and improved eye and skin shaders. More Icons are available than ever before, including Pastor Maldonado, Jamie Chadwick, and, exclusive to F1 24 Champions Edition, 1976 champion James Hunt, and 7x race winner Juan Pablo Montoya.
