EA Sports’ F1 23 is fire by itself but adding some digital awesomeness to the mix? Holy smokes. It’s all in the details, of course.

Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) introduces a series of game updates and real-world items in EA SPORTS™ F1® 23. Players can now experience the Formula 2™ 2023 roster of drivers and cars, as well as the highly anticipated Sports Update. Both updates, available immediately, present new racing opportunities and modified car designs, bringing players closer to the sport they love.

“We have collaborated closely with the Formula 1 teams to introduce our enhanced Sports Update. Each team has made unique modifications to the cars, which we have diligently recreated to ensure fans enjoy the most authentic F1 racing experience. Additionally, we are delighted to announce that players can now participate in the thrilling 14-round Formula 2 season opening a new roster of competitors and challenges," said Lee Mather, Senior Creative Director at Codemasters. 

Focusing on the plethora of changes made to each of the F1® teams throughout the season, the Sports Update varies from garage to garage and includes updates to sponsors, colours, vehicles, and bodywork. The full list of changes can be seen here.

The Formula 2™ 2023 season, featuring renowned and rookie drivers including Théo Pourchaire, Frederik Vesti, Ayumu Iwasa, Arthur Leclerc, and Enzo Fittipaldi, promises action-packed races and intense competition. Players can participate in F2™ events within Career, F1® World, and Multiplayer modes.

F1® 23 players can look forward to more exciting additions this week. The recently announced ‘Home Race’ Haas livery, driver suit, and boots, designed for the team to use at the FORMULA 1 LENOVO UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX 2023, will be awarded to those who beat the Nico Hulkenberg Scenario Event from October 17 to 23*. “We are excited to be celebrating a home race week with this collaboration with EA SPORTS F1 23, a first for us as a team. EA SPORTS have been great to work with and we hope the players enjoy completing the challenge to access our special livery,” Mark Morrell, Director of Marketing, MoneyGram Haas F1 Team.

Another team’s car livery will also be added to the game later in the week. Driver Ratings will be updated on October 19, to better represent real-life performances in Singapore, Japan, and Qatar, and F1® Esports Series champions, including Lucas Blakeley, the reigning 2022 Formula 1® Esports Series Champion, will make their debut as My Team Icons from today.

The addition of the F2™ 2023 season will bring new racing opportunities, and the launch of the sports livery update will update car designs to match recent real-world changes. More ‘Pro Challenges’ will allow fans to race against EA SPORTS ambassadors Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc across several Grands Prix during October.

Each month, ‘F1® World’ brings gameplay challenges that help players engage with the sport they love. Here's everything fans can look forward to in October:

  • From September 26 to October 2, players will be able to compete in a lap time trial challenge against World Champion, Max Verstappen*. Those who beat his time of 1:28:177 will earn his special FORMULA 1 LENOVO JAPANESE GRAND PRIX 2023 helmet in-game, which features the new EA SPORTS™ FC logo ahead of its worldwide launch on September 29. More Pro Challenges include the FORMULA 1 LENOVO UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX 2023 (October 16 to 23), FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE LA CIUDAD DE MÉXICO 2023 (October 23 to 30) and FORMULA 1 ROLEX GRANDE PRÊMIO DE SÃO PAULO 2023 (October 30 to November 6).

  • A new patch will be released on October 16 which includes the addition of the F2™ 2023 season free for all players, the release of the sports livery update and F1 Esports champions, including Lucas Blakeley, the reigning 2022 Formula 1® Esports Series Champion, making their debut as Icons.

  • ‘Replay Events’ of FORMULA 1 QATAR AIRWAYS QATAR GRAND PRIX 2023, FORMULA 1 LENOVO UNITED STATES GRAND PRIX 2023 and FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE LA CIUDAD DE MÉXICO 2023 will allow fans to relive the races by taking control of any of the 20 drivers in a replica Grand Prix with identical grid placings.

  • Studio-curated ‘Scenario Events’ featuring Nico Hülkenberg (October 17 to 22) and Sergio Perez (October 23 to 30).

Alongside competing on every circuit for the 2023 season with all teams and drivers, players can live the drama of Formula 1® in ‘Braking Point 2’, F1® 23’s enthralling narrative-driven story mode, and create their legacy via the single and multiplayer modes including the widely popular ‘My Team’.
