North Ave Jax's 'Trust Nobody' is a redemption anthem
It’s bigger than going hard in the paint. Vermont rap rookie North Ave Jax’s new ‘Trust Nobody’ is much more than a hard-hitting anthem. It’s the motivation needed to fuel everyone’s level up theme song.

Interscope Records/ LVRN/ Field Trip Recordings – Buzzing out of Burlington, VT, rapper, singer, and artist North Ave Jax makes his debut with a new single for entitled “Trust Nobody” today. It officially marks his first release under his newly signed deal with LVRN/ Field Trip Recordings as well.
Jax went from shutting down the lunchroom of his high school with fiery freestyles to recording D.I.Y. in a friend’s apartment studio. Blown away by early demos, an acquaintance blindly called LVRN Co-Founder and President Tunde Balogun on FaceTime, and he agreed to listen to Jax’s music. Not long after, the budding artist found himself on a plane to Atlanta where he received a contract.
Now, he presents a scorching signature style of his own on “Trust Nobody.” The production fuses slick 808s and ethereal guitars. Vocally, he flips between buoyant verses and a hypnotic hook where he laments “Why the fuck can I not trust nobody? I feel like I’m all alone. I don’t know what’s going on.” He takes the pain of betrayal and makes it powerfully catchy. Be on the lookout for the premiere of the music video very soon. North Ave Jax will be prepping more music for release in 2022.
Could you use a little more info on what North Ave Jax is about? We gotcha…
When you think of Vermont, you think of maple syrup, mountains, and massive amounts of snow. Moreover, its quietude typically inspires quaint lives. North Ave Jax chose a much louder path. The Burlington native took the unexpected route personally and creatively, threading deft verbal dexterity through unpredictable soundscapes punctuated by punk rock spirit, pop ambition, and even a twist of R&B. At two-years-old, he picked up drums and continued to play through grade school—even joining a rock band in first grade. Mom introduced him to the likes of Smashing Pumpkins, Pearl Jam, and Red Hot Chili Peppers, while a trip to the local library actually unlocked hip-hop for him. After hearing Flo Rida’s “Low” on library headphones, he embraced rap, listening to JAY-Z, Drake, Nas, A Tribe Called Quest, Brent Faiyaz, and more. Throughout high school, basketball occupied the bulk of his time, yet he still managed to ignite a handful of viral freestyle videos from the lunchroom. Kicked off the basketball team in senior year, he dropped out of school. One night in 2021, he wound up recording in a friend’s makeshift closet studio. Hunger to succeed drove his delivery from the jump. Serendipitously, an acquaintance FaceTimed LVRN Co-Founder and President Tunde Balogun and played him Jax’s music. A day later, the label flew him to Atlanta in order to ink a deal. Now, North Ave Jax introduces a scorching signature style on a series of 2021 singles and more to come.
