Could you use a little motivation right about now? Lean on hip-hop artist Yalee and his newly released ‘God Stay With Me’ anthem to get you through another non-stop grind day.

The rap artist delivers audio fire with his newest tune from a new four-song EP and My Outside Is Different short film. Peep the details and tap in.

Yalee confronts the pull of the streets with a plea for strength and protection in his new single ‘God Stay With Me’, the opening chapter of his upcoming artistic statement – a 4-song EP and short film, ‘My Outside Is Different’.

Born and bred in Dayton, Ohio, Trap Soul artist Yalee is now making waves in LA with his unapologetic music and inspiring story, kicking off his new project with an electrifying set opening for Lil Xan at 1720 in July. Influenced by his mother, a gospel singer, his connection with music began in childhood and has grown into both a sanctuary and a way of uplifting others. His tracks aren’t just musically powerful; listeners also find solace and strength in his words.

Asked what goals he has when it came to his music, Yalee responds, “I want to help people find out who they really are, letting people know you’re not the only one going through it and I think it’s a natural instinct to think when you're going through something, that the world is just shitting on you. But we are all going through stuff and I want to be the voice of clarity because, in all actuality, it’s probably somebody going through the same shit. That's why I like to talk about the things that I talk about in my music, to let people know that they are not alone.”

Drawing on Yalee’s lived hardships, ‘God Stay With Me’ addresses the influences leading down the path of the streets and leans into the power of calling on God for protection and guidance. Yalee’s unique brand of gospel-influenced trap is boldly unconventional as he weaves his emotionally vulnerable side and his faith, acknowledging “I had to thank God for keeping me from falling”. The lyrics track the artist’s own story, having set out on an ambitious path with a big dream, looking after his mother when she needs help and keeping the memories close of friends he’s lost, even as the streets keep calling. Yalee acknowledges the power of God as his salvation in the face of temptation, frequently repeating the mantra “God please stay with me, cuz the devil trying to play with me”. The call of the streets often ends in one of two ways: death or jail, and Yalee has determined that God’s presence will light his path to the life he wants to live.

'God Stay With Me’ is only Part 1 of the powerful personal story and universal message Yalee is delivering with his upcoming EP and short film, “My Outside Is Different”. Its strong musical, lyrical and visual narrative builds tremendous anticipation for the remaining chapters. Stay in the know about Yalee’s next musical moves via his socials @yalee
