Mez & Isiah Rashad: The 'Hot Spot' music video is all you need to warm up your Tuesday

Sometimes you have to do more than just lose yourself in the music. How about getting caught up in the music video, too? Turns out rap crooner Mez and Isiah Rashad hit the green light on delivering a much-needed ‘Hot Spot’ visual for your viewing pleasure.

A Tuesday flex? Why not. Embrace the visual and keep scrolling to check out Mez’s new studio project.

North Carolina-born, LA-based artist Mez (f.k.a. King Mez) has been building a musical universe of his own with each of his releases. A GRAMMY-nominated artist, songwriter, and film director he’s channeling all of his creative energy into The Loading EP via Mass Appeal Records.

The Loading EP is Mez’s official re-introduction to the music industry after spending the past 4 years focusing on creative endeavors like directing the video for J. Cole's 8x-platinum “Middle Child”. While he wasn’t publicly releasing music during this time, he was still in the studio, hard at work on new music. Check out this clip of him and Leon Bridges recording “Around the World” back in 2020!

Mez officially returned earlier this year, starting off with the reflective “Call On,” a great reintroduction to Mez’s current headspace and musical style. He followed that up with the sultry “Hot Spot” with Isaiah Rashad and the soulful “Around The World” with Leon Bridges. Just a couple weeks ago he contributed to J. Cole’s Might Delete Later and popped out at Dreamville Fest a couple weekends ago.

Mez recruited more A-List talent for the EP, tapping SAINt JHN and MAVI for “Bat Phone” and Childish Major for “Hummer Time.” While the features are impressive in their own right, Mez truly shines on his solo tracks. One of my personal favorites is the energetic yet contemplative “Devil Is A Judge,” which finds Mez exploring themes like love, the afterlife, and his experience growing up in the South. The themes run through the entire project, with Mez digging deep and thinking back on the moments in life that have made him the man he is today.
