Tyla’s viral hit “Water” debuts today at #67 on the Billboard 100. Additionally, the official music video was released this past Friday and has already amassed over 3 million views on YouTube.

The arrival of the official “Water” music video this past Friday, represents the crowning achievement of what’s been a whirlwind 2023 and rollout for the rising star’s first single to chart on multiple global Billboard Songs charts. The song debuted in August to widespread fanfare, immediately sparking interest and fan interaction on social media. A TikTok challenge ensued, and the song has since soundtracked over 2.2 million posts on the platform and generated a whopping 3.6 billion views. Prior to the arrival of the official music video, Tyla racked up over 10 million YouTube views between the official “Water” audio, lyric video and Vevo DSCVR performance video, and she’s quickly approaching a quarter-billion subscribers.

“Water” continues to rise and has made Top 40 landings on a number of global charts, including New Zealand (no. 4), UK (no. 10), Dutch (no. 10), Ireland (no. 21), Denmark (no. 21) Australia (no. 32) and Norway (no. 28). The song is also charting at no. 27 on the Switzerland charts where Tyla also performed on the “Water” on Sweden’s most influential program, BIANCA.

Tyla has been building for this moment with “Water” being her 3rd major offering of the year following “Been Thinking” in January and the Ayra Starr assisted “Girl Next Door” in May.
