Big Moochie Grape: The 'Living Legend' music video is a late night flex

The vibes are more than just alive with hip-hop artist Big Moochie Grape these days. The hip-hop heavyweight comes through with a hard-hitting ‘Living Legend’ for the masses to embrace.

The song alone is tough but getting the cinematic treatment? Super tough. Tap in.

Renowned for his dynamic personality and hard-hitting bars, Big Moochie Grape is a one-of-a-kind rapper. Standing on his singular status, the Paper Route Empire artist shares “Living Legend,” the new music video from East Haiti Baby: Incarcerated. Over minimalist yet menacing keys and thudding drums, courtesy of Memphis producer Ayoza, Moochie spells out what sets him apart from the rest and proves why he deserves legend status: “Got rich quick off that rap sh*t lil b*tch hell nah I ain’t stressin.” In the video, directed by 2BrosFilms, Moochie lives the life of a legend, showing off at a photoshoot, whipping through the streets, and hanging with his crew.

The “Living Legend” video is Moochie’s first release since his first-day-out single “Wake Em Up” and its viral From The Block performance (640k views). The tracks continues a saga that started with Moochie's new project, East Haiti Baby: Incarcerated, the follow-up to 2022’s East Haiti Baby. The high-octane mixtape welcomes guest verses exclusively from other incarcerated rappers, including YFN Lucci, who who turns in a sing-song counterpoint to Moochie's machine gun patter on "I Made It," Rio Da Yung OG on "Bars," a Memphis-meets-Michigan-style banger, and his PRE cohort Big Unccc, who tears it up on "L.A. Lakers." Notably, the project welcomes an interlude from C-Murder, a close friend of Moochie's late mentor Young Dolph, the No Limit soldier who has been locked up for decades and has much wisdom to share. Honoring the project's themes, Big Moochie Grape and Paper Route Empire partnered with the Bail Project , a non-profit that advocates for bail reform and provides free bail assistance to those in need, in December 2023, matching donations up to $20k. Featuring an additional guest appearance from Bankroll Freddie, East Haiti Baby: Incarcerated is available all on platforms via Paper Route Empire.

Now that he's free, Big Moochie Grape is hellbent on stepping on necks throughout 2024 and beyond. Stay tuned for much more music from the East Memphis rapper as the year moves along.

The Background:

Paper Route Empire rapper Big Moochie Grape burst onto the scene in 2019, with boisterous Memphis rap tunes like "Uh Huh Uh Huh Uh Huh," which appeared on his debut EP, Eat Or Get Ate. Inspired by his late PRE mentor Young Dolph, Moochie went hard in 2022, releasing East Haiti Baby, home to street hits like the Bandplay-produced "Acting Up" (30 million Spotify streams) and "Christopher Wallace" (10 million Spotify streams). The mixtape earned praise from Pitchfork, who said, "the Young Dolph associate’s latest album is full of hard-working hustler music that never lets up." After releasing the expanded East Haiti Baby: Incarcerated, Moochie is hard at work on his next project, due early in 2024.
