The standout anthem goes hard from start to finish but how about getting a visual flex plus a new project brewing? Say less.

South London lyricist BlazeYL drops his latest single, ‘Meaningful Captions’—a high-energy track showcasing the unique style, skippy flow and ‘New Wave’ sound that has made him a standout member of House of Pharaohs and contributed to his ever-growing reputation as a solo artist. With sharp production from Asmus Harm, the track provides a powerful backdrop for Blaze’s punchline-packed verses, solidifying his place as a rising force in the UK rap scene. ‘Meaningful Captions’ plays on Blaze’s impactful social media presence, with artwork featuring his most notable captions, each reflecting his relentless ambition and dedication to his craft. This release fuels the momentum as Blaze approaches his next project, marking a bold chapter in his artistic journey. Following the success of his genre bending 12-track mixtape ‘The Cost Of Being’, released in May, Blaze has continued to impress with striking visuals for tracks like ‘Instantly’ and ‘Money Is Time’ feat Arz and a sold-out headline show in East London. Beyond the music, Blaze has been expanding his influence with cultural collaborations, teaming up with JD Sports and Asics for a campaign that saw him running through London, hitting the gym, and visiting his barber. With no signs of slowing down, Blaze’s journey is just beginning.

Hailing from Kennington, Blaze entered the world of music at a young age, attending the acclaimed Brit School. At 14, he joined forces with Sam Wise, igniting a partnership propelling them forward as part of the Rap collective House Of Pharaohs. Blaze quickly garnered attention for his distinctive flow and captivating cadence, carving out a niche for himself in the underground scene. His Soundcloud releases amassed a dedicated following, establishing him as a rising star. The momentum continued to build when Blaze showcased his skills in a memorable freestyle performance for Kenny AllStar on Mad About Bars. His magnetic presence and lyrical prowess solidified his status as a force to be reckoned with in the Alternative Rap landscape. Alongside his fellow House Of Pharaohs members, Blaze is a prominent figurehead celebrated for his storytelling ability, undeniable swagger, and charisma. Throughout his musical journey, Blaze has collaborated with a growing list of lyricists, including Sam Wise, JME, Blanco, Arz, Kairo Keyz and AntsLive, who are unique and celebrated in their respective scenes. Blaze continues demonstrating his versatility, merging scenes and music genres whilst cementing his position as a vital contributor to the ever-evolving Rap space.

After dropping his debut solo mixtape, Blaze has quickly earned recognition and praise from influential figures like Tiffany Calver, Manga Saint Hilare, Jammer, DJ Semtex, and Rebecca Judd. The rollout of this project not only highlighted his relentless work ethic but also showcased his razor-sharp lyricism and high-energy flow, solidifying his status as one of the UK scene's most dynamic new lyricists. Blaze’s distinctive sound, which he calls 'New Wave,' is an electrifying blend of Rap, Trap, Grime, and Drill, pushing musical boundaries and highlighting his versatility. Standing at the forefront of a new generation of visionary artists, Blaze is primed to redefine rap. Kicking off the year, Blaze launched ‘Only The House VOL:1’, a powerful collaboration with the acclaimed House of Pharaohs collective. The project received widespread acclaim from critics and tastemakers alike, culminating in a performance at Skepta's Big Smoke festival alongside JME. Now fully immersed in his solo career, Blaze’s momentum continues to build as he pushes creative boundaries, gaining support from major publications like Clash, Notion, Wonderland, and Complex, all of which have championed his work. With each release, Blaze cements his position as a rising star and one to watch, leaving an indelible mark on the music industry. Known for his high-energy performances, he recently thrilled fans at his sold-out headline show, ‘The Cost of Being’, held at The Waiting Room on Tuesday, September 24th. The night featured performances from notable acts like Coults, Arz, Sam Wise, AntsLive, and Tommy Saint, adding to the event’s electrifying atmosphere. As 2024 draws to a close, Blaze’s growing reputation and remarkable consistency for delivering impactful, high-energy singles have left him riding a wave of momentum.
