Evidence and Obnoxious make the 'Honor Roll'
It’s a new music Friday so of course the expectations are high. But how about hip-hop artist Obnoxious teaming up with veteran musician Evidence for their hard-hitting ‘Honor Roll’ banger? Much more than a single, the video hits just as hard.
Check out details behind the release and kick back while viewing the visual.
San Diego emcee Obnoxious has officially released his brand new single "Honor Roll" produced by Evidence. The track is the latest single from Obnoxious forthcoming Suburban Noize debut "Sic Audio", coming later this year.
Released in tandem with the Ev produced single across platforms, Obnoxious has dropped the video for "Honor Roll". The music video was shot and directed by King Zabb and provides the perfect backdrop to the angelic vocals and ominous organ that powers Ev's beat. The video showcases Obnoxious dark complex rhymes, as the San Diego emcee levels up his bars to match the top notch production.
"Blessed to link up with one of the greatest and have Evidence produce my new single Honor Roll. I grew up listening to Evidence and he's one of my all-time favorite producers, so working with him was an amazing opportunity," commented Obnoxious. "From the moment he sent me the beat and I laid down my verse, he was breaking everything down on a whole different level. The original beat was just the skeleton, and after I laid down the vocals he then went to work meticulously producing the beat to the vocal tracks, before sending detailed notes on the mix and master. In an era of hip-hop where everyone just sends files back and forth slapping things together, Evidence's attention to detail, creativity, and the way he deconstructs the music make him one of the greatest. He truly elevated the song, and pushed me to level up."
Since signing with Suburban Noize Records, San Diego based emcee Obnoxious has been on a steady rise through the ranks. After releasing a series of solo singles like "Killshot", "Superstitious", and "Starstruck", Obnoxious wordplay and rhymes have become razor sharp, reflecting a chaotic musical juxtaposition of grimy street life mixed with a true hip-hop lyricism that will make your neck snap.
