Is there any denying just how solid Headie One is? It’s all in the voice but it’s more than just audio with him these days. His presence alone demand attention and when the cameras start rolling, you can’t look away especially when you feast your eyes on his new ‘Martin’s Sofa’ music video.
The video goes hard and delivers all types of eye-opening sequences. Peep the details and keep scrolling to watch Headie in his music video bag.
Already a fan favorite after being teased online last year, Headie referenced its release in his most recent track “50s,”—“The fans calling for 'Martin's Sofa,’ it might be the first single from my second.” Social media buzz soon followed with #wheresmartinssofa trending on TikTok and the sofa touring the UK this week, creating the most hype for a Headie release thus far.
The track is a poignant dedication to Martin, his old friend who helped a young Headie through hard times in his formative years, delivered in signature flow and street-smart lyrics with M1OnTheBeat production. Directed by Nathan Tetty (Dave, Fredo, Clavish, Ghetts) the accompanying video features the original sofa and depicts the respect and unique bond they still share to this day.
Headie’s forthcoming second full length album follows the UK #1 charting Edna in 2020, which featured Skepta, Drake, Stormzy, AJ Tracey, Aitch and many more. Set to be released later this year, further details will be revealed soon.

Headie One, the first artist to emerge from the Drill scene with a UK Official Chart top #10 single, has been on a fast rise, but not without validation every step of the way. The 28-year-old rapper born and raised in Tottenham, one of the figureheads of the burgeoning scene, he drew inspiration from the smooth melodies of southern and east coast Hip Hop to create his signature bouncy flow coupled with his acute wordplay.Headie’s rise seemed fated, as though he was destined to be one of the genre’s forefathers – like Wiley with grime, fellow Londoner Giggs with road rap, or So Solid Crew with UK garage – and has done so with a versatility that means, though he is centered in the drill scene, Headie also easily maneuvers between other UK based genres and his aspirations are to showcase his art to the widest demographic possible.
His official debut album Edna (released in 2020) was the culmination of a steady progression that has seen Headie One amass over 100 million global streams and release multiple UK top 10 singles. The album debuted at No.1 on the UK Albums Chart making history as the first drill album to achieve the milestone. All the while scoring multiple hit singles like “Only You Freestyle” featuring Drake, "Ain’t It Different” featuring Stormzy & AJ Tracey and “Princess Cuts” with Young T & Bugsey, alongside releasing his ninth mixtape Too Loyal For My Own Good in 2021.
More recently he collaborated with Abra Cadabra and Bandokay on “Can’t Be Us” and released the UK Top 40 hit, “50s.”
