Latto delivers Barbie World vibes with her new 'Lottery' music video
Whether you want to dance all night or just bop your head, Georgia rapper Latto is getting you in the mood with her new ‘Lottery’ anthem. It’s more than a single though, the hip-hop star is sparking President’s Day Weekend with the must-see music video.
Whether it’s the glitz and glamour or her signature smile, it’s all eyes on Big Latto and guest feature LU KALA.
Today, ATL-based Grammy nominated rapper Latto starts the year off with her new single and video “Lottery” featuring LU KALA via RCA Records. Directed by Chandler Lass, the visual for the upbeat bop made its broadcast premiere on MTV Live, MTVU, MTV Biggest Pop and on the Paramount Times Square billboards as well. The highly anticipated release follows her dropping the fan-requested “Another Nasty Song” and turn-up anthem “FTCU” featuring GloRilla & Gangsta Boo.
Latto ended last year hitting the lotto – she garnered two 2023 Grammy nominations for “Best New Artist” and “Melodic Rap Performance” for “Big Energy (Live)” in addition to winning awards for “Best New Artist” at the 2022 People’s Choice Awards and BET Awards. The three-time 2022 AMA nominee and four-time 2022 VMA nominee presented at both respective award shows and was announced with the honor of the “Breakthrough Artist” Award for the 2022 Variety Hitmakers. Recently it was announced that Latto will be honored with the “Powerhouse Award” at Billboard’s 2023 Women in Music Awards before heading back on tour with Lizzo for the second leg of her Special Tour.
Still keeping tabs on Latto? Needless to say, it’s remained a non-stop grind for her these past 12 months.
With over 1 billion streams worldwide across all platforms and accolades continuing to rack up from her success, it’s clear that Latto has set the stage to become a global superstar. The release of her hit RIAA-certified 2x Platinum single “Big Energy” in September 2021 has made Latto inescapable. She went on to make history with the single as the first female rapper to ever have a #1 record at Pop, Rhythm and Urban Radio with the same single.
Overall, she’s also the first female artist in 12 years to accomplish this feat, joining the company of Rihanna (“Rude Boy”), Alicia Keys (“No One”), Beyonceě (“Irreplaceable”), Mary J. Blige (“Be Without You”) and Mariah Carey (“We Belong Together”), the last five to previously achieve this. Last year she was also nominated for “Top Rap Female Artist” for the 2022 Billboard Music Awards and gave a fresh, elevated performance of “Big Energy.” Latto delivered another show-stopping performance at the end of June with a medley of “It’s Givin” and “Big Energy (Remix)” – for the latter she brought out Mariah Carey and Young Dirty Bastard – after winning her first-ever award for “Best New Artist” at the 2022 BET Awards.
With the release of “Lottery,” the next chapter of Latto’s career begins with more new music, more vibrant visuals and more big energy from The Biggest.
