Smoke DZA's 'Casualties' is Kush God at his best
Harlem’s own Smoke DZA knows the significance of February 4. The hip-hop veteran comes through with a must-see new Mood Swings album and what better way to celebrate than with a ‘Casualties’ music video premiere?
The hip-hop heavyweight defines the heart of the Big Apple with some major flexing and even posing outside the local bodega spot. Simple. Fly. Kush. God. Check out what Smoke DZA and producer Real Bad Man had to say about the new project and load up the new visual.
“I was going through a lot of different emotions during the pandemic. Being legally able to sell weed on the west coast was inspiring” Smoke DZA confessed. “Badman and I created this project during that, and because his beats were so dope, Mood Swings became a perfect title for the project.
“Mood Swings came about in a very natural way. I’d been a fan of Smoke for a minute and wanted to work with him. I had some tracks in mind that I thought he’d sound great over, he’s got such a distinct vocal tone that I wanted the beats to compliment that tone sonically” Real Bad Man lamented. “I sent over beats and we started recording right away. I wanted this project to be quintessential Smoke DZA, just through my lens.”
