There’s no slowing down what hip-hop duo Ocean x KungFu are serving up these days. Whether it’s a new song or a full-fledged ‘WGFU’ music video - it’s all eyes on the rap pair.

The new visual demands attention and just when you think it ends there? How about a full-fledged new album, too? Say less.

Atlanta’s breakout rap duo Ocean x KungFu release anticipated debut mixtape WGFU via Interscope Records. Listen HERE. The mixtape includes features from TrinaJeremihCalboy and KB Mike.  Last week, they released the title track, a girls-night-out anthem made to be turned all the way up. Listen HERE. With the release of the mixtape today also comes the energetic visuals to the track that find the girls combining their bold, back-and-forth lyrical stylings with fierce, bombastic production. On the release of the mixtape, Ocean x KungFu stated, “We are so excited to release our first mixtape!  We hope y’all enjoy the music we created.  It’s been a fun & creative journey and we put our all into it! It’s only the beginning! LET’S GO!!!”

The mixtape also includes their previously released Hitmaka-produced single "Motion"featuring KB Mike, their summer anthem "Lay It Down," which sampled 8Ball & MJG’s legendary '90s track of the same name. That single was celebrated by the likes of Rolling StoneHipHopDx, and more. Prior to that, they made waves with tracks like "M.A.B."and "Gangsta," cuts that pulsate with the commanding spirit of the two sisters.

Although up-and-coming, Ocean x KungFu's sound has a seasoned confidence. It's because the sisters have been performing locally together since grade school. By late 2019, they picked up momentum with their breakthrough single, "Savage," and they haven't looked back since. Last year, their talent landed them a stint on Future's One Big Party Tour, where droves of new fans discovered their talent.

Sometimes you just need to turn up, right? Look no further than how hip-hop artists Ocean x KungFu are karate chopping down beats courtesy of their new ‘Lay It Down’ anthem. More than a single, the duo come through with a full-fledged new music video to keep the hype going.

It’s all types of eye-opening and in your face vibes for nearly three minutes. Peep the details and turn up.

Staying true to their Southern roots, the song samples legendary Memphis rappers 8Ball & MJG’s “Lay It Down” and the music video was shot in the girl’s hometown of Atlanta.  It’s the first new music from the girls that will eventually culminate into a mixtape due at the end of the Summer.  Earlier this year, Ocean x Kungfu hit the road for chart-topping rapper Future’s One Big Party Tour.  If unfamiliar, Ocean x KungFu previously released their singles “M.A.B.” and “Gangsta” and received love from Pitchfork naming “M.A.B” “The Must Hear Rap Song Of The Day,” BET and more.

The girls grew up around hip-hop and music and began performing locally at age 10.  Their momentum ballooned around August 2019’s unapologetic smash “Savage”—featuring brash bars like “I do not play, this ain’t 2K, this is not Madden”—which has since garnered both critical and commercial attention, including 5.8 million YouTube views and nearly 5 million Spotify. The girls also amassed massive followings across social media with both sisters having nearly four million followers on Instagram.  Since then, they’ve continued to push themselves, working to tug at the boundaries of rap to make songs that feel colorful, provocative, and vibrant—the sort of tracks that open up new possibilities for the whole genre.
