Mina Okabe: The 'Maybe One Day' teaser visual has me fully locked in

Need more reasons to fall for singer Mina Okabe? Just load up her newly leased ‘Maybe One Day’ anthem and get a teaser clip. You’ll get there - immediately.

It’s signature sounds and vibes coming from the crooner. Embrace the visual flexing from the potential full-fledged music video.

Danish-Japanese pop star Mina Okabe releases the sultry new single “Maybe One Day,” out today via Capitol Records. Boasting the newcomer's signature laidback delivery and melodic guitar arrangements, the breakup anthem beautifully captures her lounge-act cool and knack for insightful lyrics — all while setting the stage for a breakthrough 2024. Stream “Maybe One Day” via Capitol Records HERE.

"Just listen when I say, don’t take this the wrong way," Okabe croons over a playful, Bossa Nova-style groove. "This was such a mistake, we’re not good together." She continues to speak her truth unapologetically on the chorus. “Maybe one day I would’ve fallen for you," the rising artist sings. "And now I’m facing the truth and I just need some distance ‘cause I can’t look at your face.” It’s impossible not to get swept up in Okabe's velvety vocals as she calls it quits.

"Maybe One Day" is the first new music from Okabe since “Flashback,” her collaboration with Dalchi Yamamoto. It was preceded by the release of her acclaimed Spinning Around EP featuring three previously released singles: “Take It Further,” “Waiting Is A Waste” and “Rain” — as well as the bouncy track “Talk to Me.”

From the very beginning, Okabe commanded the attention of listeners with her cozy, gentle brand of pop. Born and raised in London before living all over the globe, she cultivated a sound all her own. In 2021, the burgeoning hitmaker released her debut album Better Days featuring celebrated singles “I’m Done” and “Walk Away.” Since then, she has continued to grow her audience, delivering tracks like “Every Second,” which has amassed over 46 million streams on Spotify alone.

Now, with “Maybe One Day,” Okabe hones her sound further, presenting the kind of polished, playful pop the makes her One To Watch in 2024.

Tyla: It's an adrenaline-pounding love tale in the 'Truth or Dare' music video

There is no denying how much crooner Tyla delivers when it comes to music-making. So seeing her glow up in the new ‘Truth or Dare’ music video? Mind-blowing.

There is no denying how much crooner Tyla delivers when it comes to music-making. So seeing her glow up in the new ‘Truth or Dare’ music video? Mind-blowing.

It’s all types of cinematic and eye-opening from start to finish. Buckle up and get into the zone.

Grammy nominated & rising global Amapiano Pop/R&B sensation Tyla releases her newest music video, “Truth Or Dare.” Tyla stars in the video, which is directed by famed director NABIL, known for his work with Kendrick Lamar, Kanye West and Frank Ocean. The standout single from Tyla has already accumulated over 136 million views on Tik Tok.

Though Tyla proudly infuses a pop ambiance into her music, the aspect of storytelling is prevalent in her visual work. Much like the video for “Water,” Tyla’s 2023 mega-hit, NABIL’s “Truth Or Dare” feature, despite its high-spirited nature, carries a distinct plot to accompany the song’s effervescence. Tyla, clearly perturbed by a romantic prospect’s lackadaisical pursuit, flips the script, and decides to put her potential love interest’s will to the test. Seconds later, as Tyla croons effortlessly, she finds herself the subject of a high-speed chase that results in a fateful meeting with her pursuer—only to slickly relieve him of his car keys and speed off with the upper hand. Again.

Following the announcement of her upcoming self-titled Tyla in December, the South Africa native made history on the Billboard charts, becoming the highest-charting female soloist in African history when “Water” ascended to its #7 peak on the Billboard Hot 100. The song would go on to be certified platinum by the RIAA, Tyla’s first plaque and an indication that unequivocal stardom is on her horizon.

This Sunday, Tyla is up for her first GRAMMY Award thanks to “Water,” in the “Best Afrobeat Song” category. “As soon as I heard ‘Water,’ I said, ‘It’s over. We have the song’,” she told Rolling Stone last year, as the track dominated radio and social airwaves alike.

This year, Tyla will release her proper debut album, which is set to be one of 2024’s most highly-coveted releases. If “Water” and “Truth Or Dare” are any indication, she’s beyond ready.

Tyla’s music pushes boundaries. Infused with her vibrant personality, her songs offer an innovative take on pop and R&B, shimmering with the euphoria of South African amapiano, and an otherworldly approach to production that makes every track feel like something totally new.

Tyla’s emotionally rich music began when she was just 12, penning songs in her diary, which led to writing and singing more seriously as a high schooler. Ever since, she’s been guided by her intuition, which has her primed to build out her fan base and maximize her reach. She’s focused on the year ahead, performing and crafting her debut studio album, with the same intention from when she began. Signed to Epic Records through a joint venture with Johannesburg/New York-based Fax Records, and co-managed by We Make Music and Africa Creative Agency, Tyla is poised to achieve international dominance with style, soul, and spirit.

Riovaz: The 'crying at the Orgy' music video is dark and sexy as hell

Low-key and high-key? Riovaz is easily one of my favorite new artists in The Culture right now. His signature sound is solid but his knack for releasing fire music videos like the new ‘crying at the Orgy’ visual? Must-see, of course.

His love for keeping the focus on baddies while letting his emotions run wild? Insanely fun. Peep the details and keep scrolling to get into the cinematic zone.

Fresh off his sold-out headline “Riorave: Disturb the Norm II Tour,” enigmatic artist Riovaz shares a fresh sonic masterpiece titled, “crying at the Orgy.” The mesmerizing track defies convention, pulling you into a dimension where glitchy soundscapes and hypnotic rhythms reign supreme. The track feels like a whisper to your soul, luring you into an ethereal trance-like state. Of the track, Rio shares “’crying at the Orgy’ is not like any song I’ve ever made before. This is the sound I’m truly trying to embody along with the visuals. I’m just trying to show everybody my world.” Listen HERE via Darkroom/Geffen Records. In the video directed by Tommy Kiljoy, the beginning visuals parallel the cult classic public access call-in TV show “rAw TiMe,” hosted by the iconic goth princess, Tinarina. “rAw TiMe” was a forum for the niche music listeners of the 90’s, as Tinarina would sarcastically mock the call-in requests and unapologetically “only play stuff for the real weirdos.” The visual narrative quickly unfolds, and the subdued lighting with the glitchy, gloomy effects and shadow play accentuate the emotional depth of the track. Watch HERE.

Prior to “crying at the Orgy” Rio shared “the Rake (can’t complain)” – an angsty track with intimate lyrics and rapid-fire percussion changes. It rapidly grew to become highly anticipated amongst his fans and the snippet became one of the top 1% of videos to grow across TikTok. Additionally, it racked up nearly 9 million views, 6.7K "creates," and more than 1.3M likes. This year he also shared “Waiting alonE,” which received praise and continued support from Billboard, Remezcla, Ones To Watch, and more.

It’s already been an exciting year for the up-and-comer. Riovaz has been on a thrilling adventure, crisscrossing the map and setting stages ablaze with his unforgettable performances. He kicked off his first headlining, sold out, RIORAVE tour and performed to wild crowds in Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, Orlando, Atlanta, and New York before finishing up in Chicago. He then made his way overseas for three additional shows and this summer performed at Pharrell Williams’ Something In The Water.  In the fall, he continued on the second leg of his sold-out tour. Fans were able to soak in the pulsating magic of his viral hits including “Tantrum (Pace Yourself),” the skaiwater-assisted “Hypnotized,” “U Neva,” “Can’t Keep Myself Intact,” and more. With a growing fan base and solid shows echoing his music prowess, the journey is far from over – brace yourself for more Riovaz.

For Obai, music doubles as both a safe space and a vessel that he will continue to explore. In celebration of her acclaimed new EP tori, two-time GRAMMY® Award-winning multi-platinum artist Tori Kelly serves up the show-stopping and slick official music video for her new single and EP standout, “cut.”

The visual for “cut” matches the uncontainable and undeniable energy of the track. As hummable acoustic guitar gives way to a fast-paced beat, the clip follows her from a parking lot to inside of a Chinese restaurant to the aisles of a convenience store and finally to the club where she turns up surrounded by friends. The showstopping choreography and nocturnal moods perfectly complement the song’s high-energy dancefloor-ready crescendo.

Just last week, she delivered a series of stunning and show-stopping performances for VEVO of three songs from the EP, including “shelter,” “alive if I die,” and “missin u – r&b edit.”

Released at the end of July, tori showcases Tori Kelly at her most authentic and charismatic.  Billboard proclaimed that the EP “makes clear she’s at her most self-assured,” while Uproxx highlighted “cut” as “one of the best pop songs of the week.” VIBE described the project as where she “embraces all of who she is as an artist, woman, and writer,” while American Songwriter exclaimed that “The seven-track EP illustrates some of Kelly’s most empowered songs to date.”

With tori, one of music's greatest talents is poised to soar to new heights, carried by a collection of new songs that absolutely demand to be heard.

Bachelor life forever? Ever ever? Maybe but for right now it’s all about celebrating yvngxchris coming through with his new ‘IMAGINE’ single and music video.

The song goes hard but adding the visual element? Super tough. Peep the details and keep it scrolling to see the cinematic touch.

Maintaining incredible momentum, one of rap music’s most promising rising stars yvngxchris shares a magnetically melodic new single and music video entitled “Imagine” today.

Produced by frequent collaborator Dylvinci, the track layers jazzy old school horns above a frenetic beat. Meanwhile, yvngxchris threads together hypnotic bars about the one lady who might just make him give up his old player ways. It culminates with a promise on the chantable chorus, “If we lock eyes one more time, then you’re catching my lips.” Graphic novel-style animated frames bookend the cinematic visual directed by Keats—who also helmed “Walk” [feat. TANA]. Live action footage follows yvngxchris and his date through the park, only for a passerby to catch his eye. Confusion and mistrust ensue as the clip dissects the push-and-pull of a complicated romance. You need to watch to find out what happens!

Need to learn more about yvngxchris? Have to keep tabs? Tap in.

He ignited anticipation for the track on TikTok, building buzz with various teasers. Audiences have clamored for its official release, and he delivers now!

HipHopDX and more.

Its predecessor “Walk” has piled up 1.1 million Spotify streams and 403K YouTube views on the
music video. Inciting critical acclaim, FLAUNT sat down with him for an extensive interview and predicted, “He’s here to take over the rap game one banger at a time.” BET pegged him as “#OnTheVerge” and attested, “yvngxchris is a Major Voice of His Generation.”

Tucker Nichol: It's the type of 'Long Story Short' you can't help but love

Someone’s pain is another person’s pleasure? Sort of. Bottom line? Singer Tucker Nichol is keeping it 100 with the music and making her points with the visual flex coming courtesy of her new ‘Long Story Short’ music video.

Someone’s pain is another person’s pleasure? Sort of. Bottom line? Singer Tucker Nichol is keeping it 100 with the music and making her points with the visual flex coming courtesy of her new ‘Long Story Short’ music video.

The lyrics hit hard but it’s the eye contact and visual presentation bringing it all full circle. Tap in and embrace it all.

Recent studies show that 1 in 3 young people will be in an abusive or unhealthy relationship in their lifetime. R&B artist, Tucker Nichol, tackles that very topic on her new single, “Long Story Short,” released today, May 12, 2023, and accompanied by a music video

Nichol wants “Long Story Short” to be an anthem, not only acknowledging dysfunction for what it is, but for holding your head high on the way out the door and never looking back.

Written by Nichol, alongside Mary Weitz (FLETCHER, Alina Baraz, Normani), Adam Korbesmeyer and Jerry Lang II of cut&dry (Remi Wolf, PRETTYMUCH), “Long Story Short” is what happens when you finally run out of reasons to stay around a toxic person and no longer have the desire or patience to tolerate their toxic behavior.

With lyrics like, “I see a pattern, You’re an illusion, You gotta problem, Ain’t no solution,” Nichol doesn’t shy away from the sensitive topic of abusive relationships and moving on from them.

Nichol had this to share about her single, “Say what you want, but that wasn’t love” is one of my favorite lines of the entire song. I became so exhausted and disgusted by people claiming that they loved but treating me horrendously. I finally realized that real ‘love’ doesn’t look like that. People cannot be volatile with you and then use the guise of ‘love’ as a crutch to fall back on. We tend to have blinders for certain people, but when you allow yourself to see them for who they really are, it becomes a major lightbulb moment.”

Nichol was featured in Taylor Swift’s, “Teardrops on my Guitar” music video, is a former Miss Tennessee USA, and is married to former NBA player, Brandan Wright.

There’s no slowing down Toosii these days so it’s no surprise he’s staying on the grind with a new, must-see ‘Favorite Song’ music video. It’s all types of eye-catching and freshness coming courtesy of the crooner.

It’s all types of cinematic impressiveness. Peep the details and keep scrolling for the visual.

Today, Toosii shared the bittersweet official video for his new hit single, “Favorite Song.” Directed by Damien Sandoval (Wiz Khalifa, Tyga, Anitta, Missy Elliott) for Happy I’m Sad production company, the video opens with Toosii alone in a massive, majestic theater after a show. As he performs “Favorite Song” in the empty room, a tender, emotional love story unfolds about a couple and the last days they spent together.

With “Favorite Song,” Toosii has achieved a new career milestone. Billboard observed, “Toosii has maintained a steady presence on Billboard’s charts over the past three years, but now he’s officially a Billboard Hot 100 hitmaker…” In its second week on the Hot 100, “Favorite Song” climbed into the top 50. Following its release by South Coast Music Group/Capitol Records, the track placed number 1 on Apple Music’s Hip-Hop chart, within the top 10 of Apple Music’s overall Top 100, and the top 10 of Spotify’s Viral 50 – USA.

Earlier this month, Toosii kicked off – and concluded – his incredible Rolling Loud California set with his first performances of “Favorite Song.” In his interview for the Rolling Loud Livestream, he spoke with YesJulz and Drea Jackson about the track. View the interview HERE. Complex hailed Toosii as “One of music’s brightest stars” and Teen Vogue said, “if you're not in his orbit yet, you need to tap in.”

After closing out 2022 with Boys Don’t Cry: Men Do (Deluxe), which shot to #1 on Apple Music’s R&B Chart, and the direct support slot on Rod Wave’s Beautiful Mind arena tour, Toosii kicked off 2023 with “Magic Potion,” which was singled out as one of the week’s most notable new songs by XXL Magazine, Brooklyn Vegan and others upon its release.

Hailing him as one of the artists “you should keep on your radar,” Ebony noted, “[Toosii] shows a vulnerability in his music which he embraces wholeheartedly.” VIBE observed, “[Toosii] has never shied away from his feelings, and promotes how strong it makes a man to embrace them… [Toosii] has an innate ability to capture his personal experiences in a way that makes them sound like specific situations everyone has endured.”
