Torae: The explanation behind 'The Return' is as fire as you would hope with Marco Polo, too

Following the release of their latest single, “The Return” Torae and Marco Polo give fans the story of how the single came to be. He briefly discussed the different route Marco wanted to take with the single, but Torae had other plans. They originally recorded the record in 2016. However, Marco and Torae punched in a few lines and realized how the song still withstands the test of time today. 

Torae gives hilarious commentary about some of the bars in the song as if he were on Genius giving a lyrical breakdown. Since its release last week, “The Return” has been featured on BET, Rock The Bells, and more. Their collaborative album Midnight Run will be released later this year.

Marco Polo’s perspective takes viewers to his in-house studio. He reveals the bag in which he keeps all of his beats on cards and plays the song sequence for viewers. Marco Polo teaches people the differences between some drum kicks and spotlights the simplicity in the beauty of the beat pad he used to make “The Return.”
