Young Quez: It's all 'Rockstar' vibes at night and with the fire

Sometimes you just have to get hit with unexpected fire and it’s the case with Young Quez. The Arkansas hip-hop artist delivers in a big way coming courtesy of his newly released ‘Rockstar’ music video.

The song goes hard but it’s all in the visuals. Late nights, blazing fire and up-close cinematic flexing. It’s all in the music video. Peep the details and keeps scrolling to see Quez in his bag.

Quez’s first release since last year's monumental collaboration with G Herbo on "Big Brother". Quez is another addition to the blooming Arkansas hip-hop scene, joining the likes of fellow rappers like QC signee Bankroll Freddie and Cootie working to showcase the state’s talents. Only two hours away from the raucous Memphis scene, Quez pulls influence from their double-time flows and emphasis on punchlines to create a sound that is uniquely his.

Need to learn more about Quez? Gotcha.

Born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Young Quez is a rapper on the come-up using his storytelling skills and rapping abilities to make it out of his hometown, whose racism and gun violence he describes as "an everyday thing". Backed by block anthems like "Scat Pack" and "Be Strait", Young Quez is already solidified as a local hero, but he has his eyes set on expanding his sound and widening his audience. 2022's "Big Brother" with G Herbo has well over 200,000 views on YouTube and over 16,000 streams on Spotify. The song's title is a reference to Quez's nickname in his neighborhood, where he's known as the fatherly figure always working to bring the local community together.

Growing up in the West 17th Street community in Little Rock, Quez hardly ever saw his mother because she always worked multiple jobs to support him. His late brother, a fellow rapper, Big Vell, was tragically a victim of gun violence and passed away at 19 years old. Young Quez is using these two experiences as motivation to make it big and bring in generational wealth for his four kids. Thanks to the success of tracks littered with raw storytelling and hungry bars like "Big Brother" with G Herbo, "Scat Pack" and now, "Rockstar", Young Quez is well on his way to making his dreams become a reality.
