Bullet Train is the best date night movie I've seen in over a decade

And for the record, I was not on a ‘date night’ when I went to a private New York City screening to see Bullet Train last night - but from the opening sequence to the final moments - and then post-initial credits moment - you’re going to be glued to the screen and I knew this had to be celebrated as an absolute Date Night-approved masterpiece.

When the trailer came out a few months ago, the awe factor centered on Brad Pitt. But as much as I love the legendary actor, you immediately realize this is one of those rare films where every character and cast member come together like the Avengers - but way better and with a Mature meets R-rating awesomeness effect.

Bad Bunny kills. Joey King kills. Aaron Taylor-Johnson kills. Brian Tyree Henry kills. There are so many dope elements to this film I don’t honestly know where to start. The high-speed action is an element within itself but when you see all the Tarantino-esque approaches to the storytelling and the celebration of animé and Japanese culture?

Then add in the elements of surprise, the witty dialogue and how every scene you see is not wasted or filler? Beyond amazing. It’s a film you will easily want to see twice, possibly even three times and it’s one of the rare flicks I kept whispering, ‘I’m buying this,’ throughout the screening. I even took it to the iPhone 13 Pro Max iMessage screener to ping a few friends about the life-altering need to see this movie as soon as it hits theaters this week.

If you are the type who likes to slip away for popcorn refills or even potty breaks, you’re better off just buying two popcorns and hitting the bathroom during the previews. The film masterfully goes as fast as the bullet train and sucks you into its multiple stories and how they all intertwine - beautifully and in such a perfect way - is mind-blowing.

Whether your bae prefers to see familiar faces or loves well-written - which is an understatement for how perfectly developed this cinematic masterpiece is presented on-screen - storylines, you’re going to fall in love with Bullet Train on endless accounts.

You’ll also find yourself rooting for different people throughout and even experience a flurry of emotions constantly changing throughout.

Buckle up and get excited for the best movie of the summer and a date night movie classic.
