Autoblow A.I.+'s Brian Sloan talks FX's 'Dave' backstory and Howard Stern Show co-signs to creating a life-changing adult toy (Exclusive)

It’s not everyday you meet your idol - in all fairness, we’re not quite there yet with me personally giving a sex-themed religious ritual to the legendary Brian Sloan every morning but at the rate he’s going courtesy of the newly launched Autoblow A.I.+, that day might be coming very soon - no pun intended.

The man responsible for coming up victorious on the ‘Howard Stern Show’ sex tycoon segment and having his iconic Autoblow reach new audiences courtesy of an appearance on FX’s ‘Dave’ season two made some special time for Attack The Culture to geek out with me on everything imaginable - or at least related to his biggest new contribution to the adult toy world - ever.

It brings me massive pleasure to present a few highlights and let you go into the mind of the industry game-changer Brian Sloan as he digs deep into this masterful work of art and brilliance, talks about the media attention his Autoblow franchise has received in these 6 to 12 months and everything in-between. Are we calling it the A.I.+ or just the A.I.?

Brian Sloan: No, the new one is the Autoblow A.I.+.

So we do have the plus sign on it? Because this is technically the first A.I. version and I’m just kind of excited. Is it because we’re looking at Apple+ and Disney+? Is that why we’ve added the plus? What’s the real reason we added the plus?

Brian Sloan: We don't want to change the name. It still is the Autoblow A.I. It looks the same as the previous one where we did the blowjob Internet learning study but we added features. So it’s not ‘not’ the A.I. but it does more stuff and plus is an easy way to describe it.

The freestyle [phone app] feature is absolutely amazing, man. But for anyone watching right now, you can change the speed up. Just talk about the freestyle feature that I was kind of blown away by testing it out.

Brian Sloan: This was something also guys asked us. The problem when you make things for people’s penises is that everyone’s penis is a different size and it’s really hard to make sure the modes or the blowjobs that it gives out accommodate everyone’s size so we gave out a method to control not only the speed but the part of the penis that’s being stroked. You can control it to make it go to a very small area.

So it allows a level of customization that they haven’t seen before on other devices like this and I think it’s one that I think they’re going to like.

Just talk about these past few months to year, I’ve got to know, how in the world did the Autoblow make it into FX’s ‘Dave’ - were you aware of that or was that just a surprise?

Brian Sloan: Dave’s agent, I think, had contacted us. Actually, they made a purchase and I started communicating with them because they had made a purchase from the website and the credit card they used for whatever reason we blocked it. And then I was contacting them and I noticed the e-mail address and started communicating with them.

They were annoyed we canceled the order because we thought it was a fraudulently placed order and then they were like, ‘No, this isn’t a fraudulent order. Our credit card system is weird and then I started communicating with them and actually we were talking about potentially working together and then suddenly the product was in the episode in the pool.

We didn’t know that was coming. So him or his character were interested in this kind of stuff and I think they must have also seen Autoblow online and thought it was a good match for the show and that scene was awesome.

It’s him and Benny Blanco and [Kendall] Jenner.

Brian, out of all those episodes to be featured in, that had to be one of the best ones. [Kendall] Jenner and her fans are going to tune in just to see her. And then like you said, that promotion, which leads me back to what I mentioned a moment ago, being on ‘Stern’ - I was shocked hearing [your name] - I was screaming - talk about how much planning [went into it].

Brian Sloan: They had reached out to my PR person that they were looking to do some kind of ‘Shark Tank’-style show on the ‘Stern Show’ and so that was a very long planning process for that segment.

I introduced them to a few people that I thought could be potential guests also for the segment. It all came together and it was me, the guy with the thing for your balls and this guy that makes dolls that he rents to people. It was very interesting.

It was great and it’s interesting when people e-mail me that I’ve met one or two times, and when it’s on something like ‘The Stern Show,’ when it’s on the ‘Dave’ show, I get random e-mails from people I’ve met at random times in my life like, ‘I just saw the Autoblow on display.’ So it’s interesting how it really just spreads out, the knowledge of the product and it’s interesting to hear from random people in my life who I haven’t talked to in a long time.

What is it at the end of the day that’ll make you feel like you can retire? You can kind of just kick your feet up and not have to work so hard?

Brian Sloan: I do it, actually, because I like doing it. I recently had an opportunity to be acquired and I turned it down because I like doing this. It wouldn’t make any sense to sell the business to someone and then have nothing to do, to lose the thing that I like to do.

I don’t think there’s an end, honestly. You can ask Apple, when is the iPhone going to be good enough? The iPhone is never going to be good enough. There’s always going to be more stuff you can do with the iPhone.

I’ve been doing this 12 or 13 years and the device behind you is kind of version number 7 or so and we have more things we’re planning to release in the next few years and really it’s just a matter of releasing something, getting customer feedback and also sometimes being pushed by competitors in the industry just like Apple and Samsung are. They’re competitors and they might have a good idea or two and people are always sort of look at what people are doing and thinking of ways to move forward.

I really enjoy always having these types of technical things to work on. I enjoy the marketing side. If I was done, I would sell the business and I don’t know what I would do.

I would probably make another one. [laughs] I’d probably a different one that I’ve been thinking of. I think this has strangely become my life’s work to just to make a better and better blowjob machine. I would be happy and we put this in our press release but it’s really true - I would feel more satisfied when my machine can give a blowjob to a person and it’s indistinguishable from a human-given blowjob.

Obviously it’s a machine so you’re obviously going to know if you’re in a machine or not, I don’t know, maybe in another 10, or, I don’t know. It’s not around the corner but it’s not unimaginable that in another 10 or 15 years of this continued development maybe this machine-given blowjob can be as indistinguishable from the human-given blowjob.

That’s at least a goal I work towards and when I innovate from the product side, I look at doing things that make it feel more like a human and less like a machine.
