It’s more than just a simple social media post for Frankie. Mercy hit up Instagram this week to reveal some previously stored signature caps are now available to secure for yourself this holiday season.

‘We originally released this hat in 2020 in collaboration with Reves Paris. I wore this hat daily for a year straight back then. The font and feel of the hat was inspired by the 7 acts of mercy painting by Caravaggio. Im still in love with the embroidery on these. I found 50 of them in storage. Was going to keep them for the archive. But they’re yours now. Mercy trucker hats available now. Link in bio! 🖤’

Mozzy & Kalan.FrFr: It’s a double up flex with the ‘LUCKY HER’ album

Need some fire tunes outside of the holiday playlists to get your Friday going? Look no further than what’s brewing with hip-hop artists Mozzy and Kalan.FrFr for their new LUCKY HER studio project.

Need some fire tunes outside of the holiday playlists to get your Friday going? Look no further than what’s brewing with hip-hop artists Mozzy and Kalan.FrFr for their new LUCKY HER studio project.

Mozzy and Kalan.FrFr drop a hard-hitting ‘LUCKY HER’ album

It’s more than just their bars meeting up. From vixen India Love glowing as the project’s official cover art, how about securing artists like Skilla Baby and Rob49 on the release? Say less.

Mozzy and Kalan.FrFr are natural collaborators, the Sacramento native's storytelling and grit blending with the L.A. native's melodic flexes to create an unexpected, but satisfying whole. Following in the footsteps of fan favorite songs like "Whole 100" and "No Love," the Cali duo shares LUCKY HER, their first-ever collaborative album. Filled with hard-nosed bars and melodic hooks alike, LUCKY HER combines R&B, rider music, and street rap into a synthesis that could only have come from the West Coast. A departure from Mozzy's usual style, the Oak Park native finds himself perfectly at home in Kalan's high-rolling L.A. lifestyle, presenting songs that are flirtatious and out of pocket, but doesn't sacrifice the realness for which both emcees are known. LUCKY HER is available on all platforms via EMPIRE.

The tape is home to the recent single "BBL" ft. Rob49, a confident anthem that featured a cameo from LUCKY HER cover star India Love in the music vide. Skilla Baby shows up on "SIZE ME UP," which demonstrates the synergy between the L.A. and Detroit sounds. Mozzy's frequent collaborator Shordie Shordie joins the party for "EULOGY," providing his layered melodies over a propulsive minor key riders' anthem. In addition to breezy songs like "RUN EM OVER," there is the heartfelt "WHERE I COME FROM," and the high-octane "NO MUNYON NO FUNYON (Remix)."

Along with the project, Mozzy and Kalan share the video for "EGGS IN THE MORNING," a LUCKY HER highlight. Over an easygoing instrumental that simmers at a low boil, "EGGS IN THE MORNING" is a flirtatious display of devotion, as Kalan serenades a baddie with sweet braggodocio ("You a bad b*tch, you wear thigh highs too/Cartier on your wrist, and your eyes outdo it," he sings), while Mozzy promises to provide for her needs in any way he can ("Let me know you had to pull your patna out the mud/Let me know you need to pull your momma out the slums," implores Mozzy). Shot like a home movie, the video for "EGGS IN THE MORNING" finds Mozzy and Kalan in their element as casanovas, as they each spend a romantic night with one of L.A.'s baddest.

Hailing from Sacramento's Oak Park neighborhood, Mozzy has built a reputation as one of the best street storytellers in today's rap game.  He has earned two GOLD certifications from the RIAA as a lead artist–"Excuse Me" and "Sleep Walkin"–and three more on his collaborations with Skylar Grey, Likybo, and $tupid Young. Mozzy earned mainstream recognition in 2018, when his song "Sleep Walkin" was featured in a pivotal scene in Ryan Coogler's Black Panther, and he earned a shout out from Kendrick Lamar in his Grammy Award acceptance speech. His street classic "Bladadah" placed #68 on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 Best West Coast Rap Songs of All Time. Earlier this year, Mozzy released his heartfelt album, Children Of The Slums, paying tribute to the lost souls of his home neighborhood and telling their stories.

Born and raised in South Central Los Angeles, Kalan.FrFr has brought a unique flavor to his city's rap scene, with his melodic flows and effortless hooks. A touted football recruit before he turned to music full-time, Kalan approaches his music with an athlete's mentality, and has developed an audience in the world of sports, particularly with his hit single "Scoring," featured on many NBA broadcasts. This year, Kalan has leaned into his Cali roots, releasing the 8-song project MAKE THE WEST GREAT AGAIN, featuring guest spots from his friends and fellow Angelenos YG and Ty Dolla $ign, plus G Herbo and Spooky Jay. In June, Kalan.FrFr performed as part of DJ Hed's set in Kendrick Lamar's notorious L.A. rap celebration, "The Pop Out: Ken & Friends," broadcast live on Amazon Prime, performing his local hit "Right Wit It" with G Perico. The summer also saw Kalan grace the BET Awards Pre-Show stage with another energetic set. Most recently, he recruited an L.A. all-star team to remix his project highlight "Everybody," including OhGeesy, BlueBucksClan, and 310babii.

Who wants to wait until Friday to load up some fire tunes? Turns out hip-hop artist MG Sleepy has stepped up to show out with a guest feature-loaded I Just Woke Up Vol. 2 studio offering for the masses.

MG Sleepy comes through with ‘I Just Woke Up Vol. 2’

It’s more than just a few songs. Nearly 20 anthems deep and loaded with collaborations, there’s no holding back for the Roc Nation Distribution artist.

Columbus, Ohio hip-hop artist MG Sleepy released his highly anticipated sequel project “I Just Woke Up Vol. 2” which is currently available to stream HERE via Roc Nation Distribution.

The 16-song mixtape builds up on the success of his 2021 project “I Just Woke Up” and features collaborations with Bfb da Packman, Myaap, Liltae2 and more. The tape’s cover art is a nostalgic nod to the PlayStation classic NBA Street Vol. 2, reflecting Sleepy’s deep connection to his childhood and cultural roots.

This release follows MG Sleepy’s signature Midwest sound, characterized by bold humor, razor-sharp wit, and unapologetic bars inspired by the trap lifestyle. Songs like “Thug Passion” spotlight his gritty determination and introspective storytelling with lyrics like “Reminiscing about my life, I had some rough patches” and “Spent the ten, eight-hour drive, gon make a dub after.” Sleepy also goes in on the track “Proud Family” rapping “We finna lock it in, let's have a proud family” and “Its four corners on this house, I’m buying five cameras” which you can watch in his newest On The Radar freestyle here

Sleepy’s buzz continues to grow in the hip-hop music scene with his last On The Radar freestyle garnering over 78K views on YouTube while music videos for tracks like “Playing Stupid” and “50 Offa Gramz” have collectively amassed nearly 100K views. “I Just Woke Up Vol. 2” comes on the heels of his most recent single, “Blade Runner” and marks his 6th project since 2021. It also highlights his rapid ascent since signing with Roc Nation Distribution earlier this year.

MG Sleepy’s journey to solo success began after leaving the rap group 10TA to chart his own path. His breakout project “Cap’n Punch” set the stage for his rise, and with “I Just Woke Up Vol. 2”, he further cements his position as a leading voice in the Midwest rap scene.

Feel like embracing some serious 90’s nostalgia? Look no further than what’s brewing over with Live Nation Urban, The Roots and the LA Phil coming together to launch an epic A Roots Picnic Experience: Class of ‘95 showcase featuring The Roots, Lil’ Kim, Redman & Method Man, E-40 and Goodie Mob - to name a few legends.

A Roots Picnic Experience completely delivers with a massive ‘95 line-up

While most people might cringe when it comes to going 20-plus years into the past - seeing active hip-hop moguls ranging from The Roots and Raekwon to Mobb Deep’s Havoc in the line-up? Yup - it’s going to be a must-attend at the Hollywood Bowl in June 2025.

GRAMMY® Award-winning multi-platinum hip-hop luminaries The Roots announce their return to the iconic Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, CA, with A Roots Picnic Experience: Class of ’95, hosted by Live Nation Urban and the LA Phil. Set to take place on Sunday, June 8, 2025, the one-night-only concert special will feature a lineup of A-list talent who made 1995 a year to remember in hip-hop history: Method Man & Redman, Lil’ Kim, E-40, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Raekwon, DJ Quik, Goodie Mob, Havoc of Mobb Deep and more. The Roots will headline A Roots Picnic Experience: Class of ’95 and serve as the backing band for all guest performances. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, December 11 at 10 am PT at hollywoodbowl.com. Check out the full lineup below.

A Roots Picnic Experience: Class of ’95 follows last summer’s sold-out Roots Picnic: Hip-Hop is the Love of My Life at Hollywood Bowl, which saw the band bring their iconic Roots Picnic experience and curation of artists to the West Coast for the first time. Roots Picnic: Hip-Hop is the Love of My Life featured special performances by The Roots, Queen Latifah, Common, Digable Planets, Arrested Development and more iconic acts that have helped define the genre over the last half century. Watch a recap of Roots Picnic: Hip-Hop is the Love of My Life HERE. The upcoming Roots Picnic Experience: Class of ’95 continues to build upon the renowned music festival, which Rolling Stone hails as “Hip-Hop’s Greatest Festival,” promising show stopping performances, The Roots’ signature jam sessions and surprises throughout the evening.

On A Roots Picnic Experience: Class of ’95, Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson commented, “Well: 1995 was our true arrival. Nineteen eighty-seven was the Year of the Creative Adhesive, the year that tied together Tariq’s world and my world in high school, and 1991 was the Year of the Green Light, the year we gave ourselves permission to take our resources and passion and pursue our dream. But 1995? That was the Year It All Came Together, the year when our first major release, “Do You Want More?!!!??!” was sent into the world. Hip-hop was an entirely new ballgame back then, on an entirely new playing field. Those were the days when there were still things like mainstream terrestrial radio, bloated video budgets, and creativity at both the regional and the global levels. Those were the days that produced classic album after classic album, unleashing countless new ideas about art. Those were the days when the world was our oyster. This is the story of those days.”

A Roots Picnic Experience: Class of ’95 Lineup:

The Roots

Method Man & Redman

Lil’ Kim

Bone Thugs-N-Harmony

E-40

Raekwon

DJ Quik

Goodie Mob

Havoc of Mobb Deep

& more to be announced

Since launching in 2007, The Roots Picnic has stood at the crossroads of music and culture, entertaining, engaging and enlightening millions of fans along the way. Its dynamic lineups have included everyone from The Weeknd, Pharrell, Snoop Dogg, Usher, Nas, A$AP Rocky, Sexxy Red and Future to Vampire Weekend, Phantogram, The War On Drugs, Jill Scott, Gary Clark, Jr., Solange, Diplo, Gnarls Barkleyand much more. “Roots Picnic” isn’t just a cornerstone of the group’s career, but a cornerstone of the culture. Curated by The Roots co-founders Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson and Tariq “Black Thought” Trotter, A Roots Picnic Experience: Class of ’95 once again expands The Roots and Live Nation Urban’s collective production efforts to the West Coast’s hallowed Hollywood Bowl.

Stay tuned for more news and announcements about A Roots Picnic Experience: Class of ’95 and The Roots!

Ready for some new tunes? Turns out hip-hop artist Roc Marciano and The Alchemist are sitting on audio gems slated to arrive in the next 72 hours courtesy of their The Skeleton Key project.

Roc Marciano and The Alchemist’s ‘The Skeleton Key’ album drops Friday

While you’ll have to wait a few days, the project seems well worth it. Signature Al production with razor sharp Marciano lyrics, too? Too epic.

Two masters of hip-hop artistry, Roc Marciano and The Alchemist, are set to unveil their monumental new album, The Skeleton Key, on 12.13.24.  The Skeleton Key is an intimate affair, as it has no guest features and all Alchemist production.  Following the success of their critically acclaimed 2022 collaboration, The Elephant Man’s Bones, the latest entry is poised to further solidify their status as undisputed trailblazers and tastemakers.

Roc and Alchemist have now unveiled the first single, “Chopstick,” and video from The Skeleton Key.  “Chopstick” is now available at all DSP’s and you can watch the Evidence directed video for “Chopstick” below.

With over 15 years of friendship and collaboration, Roc Marciano and The Alchemist have honed a partnership that transcends the ordinary. Their creative synergy has produced timeless compositions that not only redefine the genre but has also inspired the generation of artists that have followed.  Speaking on their partnership, Roc Marciano declares: “Me & Alchemist, we the gatekeepers, Key Makers, your shit don’t shake unless we sanction it.”

Both Roc Marciano and The Alchemist boast illustrious discographies that have shaped how hip-hop has sounded over the last decade.  Roc, a pioneer of the modern underground sound, has shaped a unique style that blends razor-sharp lyricism with soulful minimalism, laying the foundation for countless artists to follow. Meanwhile, The Alchemist’s production is the definition of legendary, and his roll call of collaborations with icons continues to expand every year.

The Skeleton Key merges all of their individual qualities, offering the culture a collection of tracks that blend innovation with authenticity, and also highlights their shared philosophy of creating art that stands the test of time; while cementing their legacy as leaders and trendsetters in the field of communication through music.  Above all else, Roc x ALC created The Skeleton Key as a thank-you to their fans and came from a place of gratitude for their continued support.  It took ten years for The Elephant Man’s Bones to come to fruition; Roc x Alc didn’t want their respective fan bases to wait that long for a new entry.  Fan-dedicated, The Skelton Key is two masters at the height of their powers collaborating on a timeless piece of art.

Starting today at 11 am EST, there will be an exclusive edition of The Skeleton Key available at ROCMARCI.com, the download includes two bonus tracks “Hard Drugz,,” and “Bleu Mouson” which are only available through the exclusive edition, and will not be available on streaming platforms.  The exclusive digital download offer will expire on 12.12.24.

Roc Marciano & The Alchemist’s The Skeleton Key will be released on 12.13.24.

JAY-Z: Of course Young Hov has shut down the horrific sexual attack claims and Diddy connection

I promise my intent really isn’t to keep the NEWS section having this type of vibe - it’s way more lifestyle around these parts but it’s such a massive topic with the Diddy drama going down and music icon JAY-Z stepping up to shut down some pretty horrific sexual assault claims.

JAY-Z steps up to shut down those wild sexual assault claims

Just for context purposes, the claim circulated online over the weekend and pits Young Hov as a predator back in 2000 with an unnamed 13-year-old. Of course JAY relied on his Roc Nation company’s Instagram page to shut down the claim and provide clarity.
