We’re 72 hours away from Contour coming through with his new Onwards! album out everywhere so in the meantime it’s all sweet melodies and sounds courtesy of the must-hear ‘At All’ anthem.

Contour’s new ‘At All’ anthem is officially out

While it’ll take a few more days before getting the full-fledged studio effort, Con sets the mood with his newest audio gem.

In anticipation of his new album Onwards!, out October 7th via Errol and Alex Rita’s Touching Bass, South Carolina-based singer-songwriter and multi-faceted artist Contour returns with his new single “At All”. The single serves as the latest offering from his forthcoming album and follows the release of the single and official music video “Repossess” featuring Chicago poet and artist Semiratruth. “At All” finds Contour contemplating his truth and aspirations while attempting to carve away the superficial and finding himself in the process. The track is poetically designed with soft-spoken word chants set amongst lush tones, percussion, lilting piano lines, and harmonies that help draw in and transcend listeners into a realm of self-awareness.
Contour shares, “‘At All’ is a rumination on self definition. It poses the question of what steps must be taken to create a definition of self we’re happy with. Sometimes that just means looking at ourselves but sometimes it means having to kind of carve away until we can actually see something. It also asks if the self is the individual or if it’s a more fluid thing where we flow into each other.”

It’s bigger than the nation these days. Contour is celebrating the new music project with some overseas shows.

Today’s news follows a run of special dates supporting L’Rain on her northeast tour and arrives days before Friday’s highly-anticipated album release. To celebrate, Contour will host release shows in both London (October 9, Below Stone Nest) and New York (October 29, Union Pool) and will also support Nick Hakim at his sold-out London show at Avalon Cafe on October 27th.

Drawing inspiration from the great poets, writers, theorists, and filmmakers involved in the Black arts movement, including the films of the L.A. Rebellion of the 80s, Contour’s sublime expression and talent resonates with his listeners as he expertly blends samples with deconstructed elements of Jazz, contemporary soul, hip hop, and psych rock.
