Cory Gunz: A much-needed 'The Militia' mixtape has finally arrived for your streaming goals

Is there any better time to turn up than a Friday? Leave it to rap veteran Cory Gunz coming through with a much-needed The Militia studio project loaded with guest features, hard bars and ample replay value.

Gunz isn’t going the solo route on his newest venture. Instead, the seasoned rap artist comes through with his Militia crew Black Saun, Whispers, RMK and Mulaarie to set the vibes right.

Multi-platinum selling recording artist Cory Gunz releases The Militia mixtape featuring fellow Militia members Black Saun, Whispers, RMK, Mulaarie and more. Stream the YMCMB artist’s latest release HERE.

The Militia tape contains nine new songs with production from Black Saun and Qui3t with a feature from Ms. Hustle. Cory and The Militia members come through with bars showcasing their lyrical wordplay over a combination of gritty sounds and Jersey club beats with songs like “Bout Mine” and “Club & Go.” The Militia also pays homage to veteran rapper-turned-podcaster N.O.R.E.’s first album with the song “Head Tonight.”

The Militia tape comes on the heels of Cory’s “On The Radar" Freestyle where he unleashed rapid fire bars for four minutes straight! The freestyle was liked by fellow labelmate Drake and received rave reviews from industry peers such as A$AP Ferg, Dave East, Tony Yayo, Don Cannon and more. The visual for the freestyle shows the YMCMB artist alongside fellow Militia members Black SaunWhispers and RMK as he delivers rapid fire bars over a mash-up beat of previously released tracks, Scenario” and Rick Owens x Nike Tech.” The freestyle has also been released on DSPs where it received playlisting on Apple Music’s Base:Line, BARS, and Underground Hip-Hop Essentials.

Cory’s “On The Radar” Freestyle comes after the release of the video for NaySaywhich pays homage to legendary hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan’s Raekwon and Ghostface Killah by replaying the beat of one of the biggest songs of rap’s Golden Era, “Ice Cream.”  The video for “NaySay,” followed the release of Cory’s latest mixtape, Loosie Pack 3 which features guest appearances from Jim JonesChris Rivers, Jae’won, Whispers and more. Four of Loosie Pack 3’s previously released tracks, Real Rights,” “Die Slowly,” “Laundry” and “Rick Owens x Nike Tech,” have quickly become fan-favorite songs and received playlisting on Apple Music’s Base:Line, BARS, Football, Basketball and Underground Hip-Hop Essentials.

Loosie Pack 3 is the third installment of the Loosie Pack mixtape series which began to drop last fall. The first installment, Loosie Pack contained features from veteran rapper Styles P, frequent collaborator Whispers and others. The second installment, Loosie Pack 2 followed with the revered track “3 Staxx” and contained appearances from Nino Man, RMK and others.

About Cory Gunz

Cory Gunz is a platinum-selling recording artist who is best known for delivering iron-clad East Coast bars. Gunz got his start in the music industry at age 14, by inking a deal with Tommy Mottola at Casablanca Records and Def Jam Recordings. Jay-Z then shepherded him into a joint venture through The Island Def Jam Music Group. Soon after, Gunz was on the remix of Rihanna's single "If It's Lovin' That You Want." The Bronx native also contributed a verse on the original version of Lil Wayne's "A Milli" before it was replaced with new verses by Wayne for the album version

In 2009, Gunz signed a contract with After Platinum Records. By early 2010, Gunz signed with Young Money Entertainment and Universal Motown. In 2011, Gunz got his big break when he was featured on Lil Wayne's single "6 Foot 7 Foot." That year, Gunz made his reality TV debut on MTV's Son of A Gun that followed Gunz before and after he was signed by Young Money. On July 16, 2013, he released his first mixtape in two years with Datz WTF I'm Talkin Bout, which featured guest appearances by Busta Rhymes, Charlie Rock, Mack Maine, Wiz Khalifa, and Juicy J among others. 

Since then, Cory Gunz has continued to feed fans music by releasing a multitude of singles, mixtapes, collaborative projects and EPs such 2023’s Loosie PackLoosie Pack 2, the 2020 EP Guns & Butter and 2022’s Gunz x Bars with David Bars.
