CyHi's EGOT album is your must-hear EP of the month

Could you use some new tunes? Of course - so look no further than lyrical hip-hop artist CyHi with his hard-hitting and amazing-sounding new EGOT the EP studio effort.

CyHi’s EGOT album hits different and it’s a G.O.O.D thing

After mounted anticipation, Cy hit the green light on dropping the four-song project to the masses. The project is his first official project in the past few years.

Six-time Grammy-nominated performing artist CyHi (formerly CyHi The Prynce) has released his long-awaited 4-song project, EGOT the EP, via his new venture E.G.O.T Records distributed via EMPIRE. CyHi returns to remind the culture why he’s one of the most influential writers and lyricists of the 21st century. The 4-song offering is CyHI’s first official release in nearly 5-years.

While he holds it down on his own, Cy gives his peers some attention with crooner Jacquees putting his vocals down and production from Edsclusive taking over the album.

The EP features guest appearances from fellow ATL-iens Jacquees, Big Bank Black and newcomer Baby Rose, as well as production from Edsclusive (Juice Wrld, Lil Wayne, Dj Khaled, Jay Z, Big Sean, Kendrick Lamar), Bongo ByTheWay (Ty Dolla $ign, Roddy Ricch, Pop Smoke, Jasmine Sullivan), Go Grizzly (Lil Wayne, Gucci Mane, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Wale, NBA Young Boy, O.T. Genasis, 2 Chainz), Tane Runo (Nicki Minaj, Travis Scott, Coi Leray) and more. EGOT the EP includes one song from each section - EMMY, GRAMMY, OSCAR, TONY - giving fans a smattering of what to expect on his forthcoming project, The Story Of EGOT, out this summer.

The unforgettable LA Leakers freestyle courtesy of CyHi

Witty with the wordplay, Cy recently put together a hard-hitting freestyle for West Coast duo the L.A. Leakers.

It’s been five years since Atlanta native Cyhi ripped through his inaugural L.A. Leakers freestyle. Easily discussed in the Top 5 conversation of the Justin Credible and DJ Sourmilk coveted series, Cyhi has returned to the LIFTOFF with unmatched energy and wordplay that you definitely have to run back! Cyhi didn’t take his come back lightly, as he delivered on two beats, taking on 42 Dugg’s “Maybach” and Jeezy’s “Go Crazy” instrumentals. In the nearly seven-minute freestyle, the ‘The Story Of EGOT’ emcee spits, “If I ain’t the dopest n***a ever, you must sniff cocaine / Listen, since everybody wanna talk about the ghostwriter, I wrote fire for most of y’all favorite artists, so I inspired this whole generation, y’all are ghost-biters / Technically speaking, I’m everybody’s co-writer.” Cyhi completely gassed Freestyle 144.

Start the countdown for CyHi’s new album

While the new project is only four songs deep, it’s a teaser for what’s to come. Once summertime hits, so will his much-needed The Story of EGOT album.

The forthcoming project, The Story Of EGOT, is CyHi’s sonic interpretation of an E.G.O.T Award - the pinnacle of honorary achievement as an entertainer. CyHi intends to put his creativity on full display with his sophomore offering. “I’m way more diverse than just a writer and rapper, Cyhi says while speaking on the new album. “I wanted to be able to fully spread my wings and showcase all my talents in one project. I believe this project is E.G.O.T worthy. Its creativity, emotion and star-studded lineup is unmatched. With the release of his new project, CyHi intends to step from the writing room to embrace his true form as a multidimensional performer and entertainer.
