Here’s every state’s favorite Netflix series of the year
While it’s true most folks are riding behind ‘Squid Game’ more than anything, it looks like ‘Manifest’ and ‘Bridgerton’ are way popular than most folks might realize.
Here are some of our most interesting findings:
Squid Game is the top show on the West Coast, but even states like Illinois and New York can’t get enough of the new series.
Utah can’t let go of Stranger Things. The 5-year-old Netflix original is set to release its fourth season in 2022.
Manifest is the most popular Netflix show in the US this year. Out of the top shows we found, Manifest was the most searched Netflix release in 23 states.
Bridgerton is a fan-favorite in New England. The romance drama was the top searched show in 15 states, mostly among in the northeastern US.
Methodology: We analyzed the five most popular Netflix shows using Google Trends data between January 1, 2021, and October 20, 2021, to discover which shows people in each region of the US searched for the most in 2021. We used trending show data from TVGuide.com and FlixPatrol to choose the five most popular shows of the year for analysis.
