iayze gets you into the zone with 'Monarch 2: Rock' mixtape
Who wants to listen to the same raps and sounds? Turns out iayze is thinking outside of the box with presentation and overall production. So it’s no surprise the new Monarch 2: Rock mixtape delivers something you’re not used to hearing on a mainstream level.
iayze’s new mixtape has arrived
While it’s only a few songs deep, the Texas hip-hop artist delivers in a big way. A dab of Southern with Kid Cudi’s early days vibes, the alternative sounds lock you in from start to finish.
Today, rising Texas rapper iayze unleashes his hotly anticipated mixtape, Monarch 2: Rock via Simple Stupid Records / Geffen Records. A genre-defying sonic adventure, the 6-song compilation is a wildly experimental mix of sounds and influences. That ambition is showcased on iayze’s new single “Never Coming Back”featuring Aldn, which effortlessly fuses dance and hip-hop.
Raucous and uninhibited, Monarch 2: Rock is a heady mix of ‘80s-inspired production, rapid-fire beats and, as the title suggests, lashings of rock and alternative elements. The 20-year-old up-and-comer is known for breaking rules and he doesn’t disappoint. New single “Never Coming Back” is a perfect example. “Make your mind up, to be counting up the times up,” iayze raps over a new wave beat and eerie tones. “They don’t like us.”
The result of iayze’s genre-bending wizardry is a rowdy, rambunctious anthem that begs to be played again and again. Other highlights from Monarch 2: Rock include previous single “Doubt Me,” also featuring Aldn, “All About It,” “Mile Away,” and “Homicidal.” From start to finish, the breakout Texan reminds us that he’s not interested in following in anyone else's footsteps. The artist’s eclectic sound is boldly original and very much his own.
