LOKRE's embracing the brightness with Sun Don't Set

Finally - it’s here. Low-key? I had the opportunity to hear LOKRE’s ‘Sun Don’t Set’ a few days ago and was blown away by the vocal work. But now with the rest of the world getting to hear her talent? My goodness.

LOKRE’s Sun Don’t Set is must-hear

The vocal game is insane and from the cover art to the actual sounds, LOKRE’s tune is repeat-worthy and powerful enough to set any mood right. The Canada native doesn’t hold back and bodies the production from start to finish.

Toronto-based R&B singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist LOKRE has unveiled her new single ‘Sun Don’t Set’, out now.

Centering around LOKRE’s lush, stunning vocals, ‘Sun Don’t Set’ is an empowering ballad (co-written with long-term collaborators Adrian X, Ryan Ashley, and Brian West) that explores themes of spirituality, overcoming adversity, and realising your self-worth. Her first release in two years, 'Sun Don't Set' will feature on LOKRE’s forthcoming debut album ELIZABETH. Dedicated to her grandmother, the LP is touted as a springboard for her musical journey that is transformative, decadent, and refuses to be ignored.

LOKRE knows she has a smash with her new tune

Fresh from dropping the song off to the masses, LO has issued a statement on just how much the tune personally means to her.

“‘Sun Don’t Set’ is an affirmation to press on in the face of self-doubt,” LOKRE explains. “The lyrics serve as a much-needed reminder, a divine gift even, to encourage me to see the big picture and the temporary nature of pain. No matter how grey the sky is, I can trust that the sun is there - even if I can’t see it. That’s the kind of faith I think life demands."
