Ma$e's classic 'Harlem World' album had the most respect placed on its name

25 years later and Harlem World is still a must-hear classic. In celebration of the major milestone, Hard2Earn’s Torae Carr and Bonsu Thompson linked up to put major respect on Ma$e’s studio gem with some of the people responsible for its signature sound and massive positive reception.

Ma$e’s ‘Harlem World’ turned 25 in beautiful fashion

Everyone from Bad Boy Records icon Deric ‘D-Dot’ Angelettie to Sway Calloway pulled through for the event. The live podcast reflected on the project’s conception and rollout to the globe.

On Thursday, October 27th at Dear Harlem in Harlem, NYC, Bonsu Thompson and Torae of the HARD2EARN podcast hosted a LIVE episode to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Ma$e’s Harlem World. The two hosts discussed each track off of the classic album and rated (1-10) how well each held up over the years. At Harlem World’s half mark, Executive Producer Deric “D-Dot” Angelettie joined the conversation to give some incredible insight with never before details on the making of the classic composition.

"D-Dot helped take our album review experience up a level,” said Torae. “Really glad that he cleared up the ghost producer rumors.”

"Every LIVE episode births new fans for the podcast,” said Thompson. “Ma$e’s debut represented an aspirational time in Hip hop. So it was extra special to do this ep in Harlem."

Music was provided by Ty-Michellè. Cocktails were sponsored by Shinju Japanese Whiskey.

Notable guests included Sway Calloway, Rob Kenner (Boom Shots/VIBE), Reshma B (Tidal), Maria Davis (Mad Wednesdays), Pilar Scratch (Fashion Gxd Magazine), DJ Goldfinger and more.

Of course there were ample photo moments. The images all come courtesy of Daniel Vasquez (@danielvasquezphotos).
