Who wants to wait until Friday to load up some fire tunes? Turns out hip-hop artist MG Sleepy has stepped up to show out with a guest feature-loaded I Just Woke Up Vol. 2 studio offering for the masses.

MG Sleepy comes through with ‘I Just Woke Up Vol. 2’

It’s more than just a few songs. Nearly 20 anthems deep and loaded with collaborations, there’s no holding back for the Roc Nation Distribution artist.

Columbus, Ohio hip-hop artist MG Sleepy released his highly anticipated sequel project “I Just Woke Up Vol. 2” which is currently available to stream HERE via Roc Nation Distribution.

The 16-song mixtape builds up on the success of his 2021 project “I Just Woke Up” and features collaborations with Bfb da Packman, Myaap, Liltae2 and more. The tape’s cover art is a nostalgic nod to the PlayStation classic NBA Street Vol. 2, reflecting Sleepy’s deep connection to his childhood and cultural roots.

This release follows MG Sleepy’s signature Midwest sound, characterized by bold humor, razor-sharp wit, and unapologetic bars inspired by the trap lifestyle. Songs like “Thug Passion” spotlight his gritty determination and introspective storytelling with lyrics like “Reminiscing about my life, I had some rough patches” and “Spent the ten, eight-hour drive, gon make a dub after.” Sleepy also goes in on the track “Proud Family” rapping “We finna lock it in, let's have a proud family” and “Its four corners on this house, I’m buying five cameras” which you can watch in his newest On The Radar freestyle here

Sleepy’s buzz continues to grow in the hip-hop music scene with his last On The Radar freestyle garnering over 78K views on YouTube while music videos for tracks like “Playing Stupid” and “50 Offa Gramz” have collectively amassed nearly 100K views. “I Just Woke Up Vol. 2” comes on the heels of his most recent single, “Blade Runner” and marks his 6th project since 2021. It also highlights his rapid ascent since signing with Roc Nation Distribution earlier this year.

MG Sleepy’s journey to solo success began after leaving the rap group 10TA to chart his own path. His breakout project “Cap’n Punch” set the stage for his rise, and with “I Just Woke Up Vol. 2”, he further cements his position as a leading voice in the Midwest rap scene.
