Shyne reminds us his classic album dropped 22 years ago

New York rapper Shyne isn’t in the recording booths like he used to be but he’s still focused on the history he made 22 years ago. The hip-hop veteran has stepped forward to reflect on putting out his now-unforgettable Bad Boy Records studio debut to the masses.

Shyne reminds us his classic debut album dropped 22 years ago

The Belize native hopped onto his Instagram page with some major reflecting. Shyne remembered what it meant to put out an LP through music icon Diddy’s label and what it took to put out the game-changing project.

22 years ago today!
SHYNE the eponymous classic debut!

The most difficult thing I ever did in my life is to go from being a poor immigrant from Belize living in Brooklyn New York to realizing my dream of dreams to not only sign with the most dominant record label at the time @diddy but to release a classic album that influenced the culture and is still celebrated two decades later.

Not everybody makes it in New York City! The concrete jungle! If you could make it here you could make it anywhere!

Well I made it! I went through hellfire to record and release the Shyne album! But I made it!

As I walk the streets of New York from Brooklyn to Manhattan today, I never forget that poor immigrant teenager that was living in an inner city nightmare but had a dream that he could make it in the Music business.

I thank Gd for allowing my dreams to come true. Not everyone makes it!

Some people live their entire life chasing a dream that never comes true.

My Music career was the biggest blessing and the SHYNE album is a classic work of Art that I will cherish forever.

Thanks to all of you who bought my first album and supported my career!

To the young Shyne out there dreaming in the nightmare…..work hard, sacrifice, stay focused and may your dreams come true……🙏🏾
