skaiwater: The 'choosin u' single sets the tone with Valentine's Day on deck

We’re days away from Valentine’s goals heating up so what better way to get into the mood than turning up to a fire anthem courtesy of crooner skaiwater and Lay Bankz? Look no further than the newly released ‘choosin u,’ of course.

skaiwater and Lay Bankz deliver with ‘choosin u’

The song is must-hear and lures you in from the beginning through the final few seconds. It’s only a teaser for what all skaiwater has brewing all ‘24.

Trailblazing artist skaiwater collaborates with rising sensation Lay Bankz on their electrifying new track "choosin u." Infused with a pulsating Jersey club beat, both artists, known for their innovative flair, delve into the intricacies of relationships and the yearning to express love amidst uncertainty. With poignant lyrics reflecting the complexities of human connection and an unmatchable club beat, the track radiates natural authenticity. Listen to “choosin u” HERE.

In addition to the release of "choosin u," Skaiwater has been announced as the supporting act on Kenny Mason's "Route 9" Tour. Commencing this spring, the tour kicks off in St. Paul, Minnesota on March 22, with stops across California, New York, and Texas before wrapping in Los Angeles on May 3. See the full list of dates and venues below. General on-sale begins this Friday, February 2 at 10 am EST.

Last year, the burgeoning artist unveiled several tracks, including the latest collaboration "light" with producer 9lives and rising rapper midwxst, "emo hotel," "good things," and "good things 2 ft. tana." Garnering acclaim from Our Generation and RIFF Magazine, the hypnotic beats and slick lyrics captivated audiences. They also graced stages at festivals like Music Midtown and Reading and Leeds. Skaiwater's rise began on SoundCloud, where they connected with Lil Nas X, leading to collaborations and a writing credit on "Holiday." Other notable collaborators include midwxst and the late Atlanta rapper Lil Keed. In 2022, Skai released the mixtape "rave,” featuring hits like "boys don't cry" and "miles" with Lil Uzi Vert, amassing over 20 million streams and charting on TikTok and Spotify.

This year promises to be a breakthrough for the Nottingham-native. Skai, who is approaching one million monthly listeners, draws inspiration from UK Garage parties in their upbringing, where communities of color embraced dance music. Their journey led to the discovery of Jersey club music, then New Orleans bounce, shaping their sonic landscape. As skai nears the milestone of one million listeners, their evolutions promises an exciting journey ahead.
