'Snowfall' season 5 release date revealed + can't come soon enough

It’s not quite Christmas but we’re getting a very much-needed gift from the TV gods - or at least FX. After months of anticipation, the official release date for ‘Snowfall’ season five has been announced and it’s ridiculously soon.

‘Snowfall’ season 5 release date revealed

Barring any wild setbacks or delays, you can officially pencil in February 23 for the official drop date for the tales of what Franklin and company company have cooked up. The big news comes following its fourth season being FX’s most-watched series of the entire year.

Snowfall is enjoying a justly deserved burst of success with Season 4, and we’re excited to follow it up with another explosive season early next year,” said Eric Schrier, President of FX Entertainment. (Statement)

We already have the ‘Snowfall’ season 5 plot

While we don't know the exact details, there is already plenty to get excited about regarding where things stand. Set in the mid-80’s, this upcoming season has all the makings of some major drama-packed episodes.

Set in the summer of 1986, Snowfall follows Franklin Saint (Damson Idris) and his entire family, who are rich beyond their wildest dreams and on the verge of having everything they’ve ever wanted — right as the ground begins to fall out from under their feet. The sudden death of basketball star Len Bias makes the rock cocaine epidemic front-page news, the target of both Democrat and Republican lawmakers. Law enforcement is on a warpath, and the militarization of the LAPD continues as police and politicians decide the only way to deal with this growing scourge is through force — and the creation of the new CRASH (Community Resources Against Street Hoodlums) units. (Deadline)

Uncle Jerome is already excited

The major news of course has both cast members and fans alike hyped. Everyone’s favorite on-screen uncle - Amine Joseph - made sure to step up to not only confirm the news but geek out.
