SteelSeries' Nimbus+ has made my Nintendo Switch OLED useless - no cap
Rest in peace Nintendo Switch OLED and it’s SteelSeries to blame. I won't lie - the first time I was able to review a SteelSeries unit - the Arctis 7+ I fell in love, even before getting my hands on the PlayStation 5/Nintendo Switch headset, I was blown away by its presentation on the high-resolution PDF blasted to media publications. It was love at first site - get it? Fast-forward a handful of months later and getting the chance to not only review but own a Nimbus+ for my iPhone 13 Pro Max? Life-changer.
My Nintendo Switch OLED is nearly eBay-bound
In all fairness, I am really going to hold onto my Nintendo Switch OLED and in the near future you’ll fully understand why - once again, it’ll be SteelSeries to blame and credit of course. But my goodness has the Nimbus+ completely changed my life and gaming goals.
I only invested in the Nintendo Switch OLED because of the amazing quality and because I couldn’t rely on the patience of doing remote play for PlayStation and Xbox titles. And after loving Call of Duty Mobile, my thumbs were getting way too much wear and tear - could you imagine if I had to give them a breather and limit the content on here because of too much mobile gaming?
The Nimbus+ has solved every freaking one of my issues. For starters, I am the tech guy who loves to have the latest iPhone from pre-order goals to launch day ownership. Needless to say, having this handy gadget gives me instant access to playing games with a full-proof controller which is not only extremely comfortable but gives me the ability to attach the iPhone to it while I game.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
FREAKING YES.
Apologies for me being a bit late to the party - this came out months ago but just getting introduced to this SteelSeries masterpiece? I’m in love. Compare me to Han Solo waking up from the deep freeze in Return of the Jedi or Boosie Badazz not understanding what a selfie was after serving four years behind bars. All in all, knowing this type of technology exists and seeing how easy it is to connect to my iPhone 13 Pro Max? Insane.
Ready for a little bit more of some mind-blowing awesomeness? How about the fact it connects to all iOS devices allowing me to actually freak out playing MLB The Show 22 on my iPad Pro? For the price tag of $69.99, it really does come to the rescue and allows me to take advantage of all the mobile games I didn’t give the proper attention to because of the ‘hassle’ of having to use the on-screen buttons to adjust.
But on a very basic level, going back to focusing solely on the mobile iPhone experience, the mount really is a game-changer. Being able to play games on airplanes and any potential public transportation outing delivers so much pleasure to me.
Let’s keep it 100 - does anyone really like using a Nintendo Switch in public? There’s no way you can tell me anyone over the age of 11 feels comfortable with the oh-you-have-a-Switch-huh device in hand when in public. I don’t care if you’re on a public bench or just chilling on the metro bus/train, it just is a bit much.
There’s a cool, sleek look for the Nimbus+ which opens up the possibilities of gaming and allows you to casually carry this everywhere you go. If you were already used to tossing in a gaming controller on travels or at least have space in your book bag, then the Nimbus+ will easily make the trips with you and hardly take up any real area of your personal belongings.
One of the biggest mind-blowing game-changers for me is just how compatible this is with my iPhone’s Apple Arcade. Having the massive Apple One plan, I have the feature included but never gave it any serious thought because of the reasoning I provided before. This all has changed. I now have access to an endless selection of gaming titles and the comfort of gaming on each of them with the Nimbus+.
Are you starting to see why my Nintendo Switch OLED deserves its own Sausage Party-type film where it’s trying to hide my Nimbus+ controller?
There are the nitty gritty details like the fact a single charge can hold you down for up to 50 hours of gaming goals or how about the fact you can skip out on the iPad and iPhone and go all out with the Apple TV gaming. I have yet to try this out but rest assured I am going to make it a priority.
It’s a bit scary to think of how much intense gaming you can now get on your devices - if only I had been fully aware of this technology during those painful restock days of trying to secure a PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
All in all, my already amazing iPhone is going to suffer with more endless hours of me looking and treating it as a work-related device as I now plan on cracking into the mobile gaming reviews and seeing just how far I can take these experiences.
If you can’t resist and want to get some currently free standard shipping on a Nimbus+, look no further than the SteelSeries website and secure yours right now-now.
