Tommy Chong: The 'Cheech & Chong' legend promises gaming goals can positively impact your life

Could you use one for the record books? Holy smokes. The legend himself - Tommy Chong - of Cheech & Chong fame of course - taking the time to chop it up with Attack The Culture about all things Call of Duty tracer pack drops, how gaming is life and how those digital goals can actually positively spark up progression in your own personal grind? Oh yes. It’s an exclusive you have to embrace from start to finish.

Cheech & Chong’s Tommy Chong keeps it 100 on how gaming goals are life-changing in a good way

Getting the chance to talk to Tommy and get into his state of mind at the ripe age of his mid-80’s? Beyond amazing and his wisdom is as sharp as ever - so it only made it right to get his take on the growing popularity of video games and why opps trying to trash gaming goals should re-think their stance.

‘It improves your reflexes when you’re playing. The hand and body and eye coordination. You’re constantly doing that. I’ve got people in my family, my little granddaughter, she’s more adapt at the iPad than I am and she’s 3 years old and she’ll take my iPad, flip it up and get her favorite shows and everything else.

It’s done so much to help everyone, especially children, get that eye and hand coordination going. Being able to use their hands and minds for the reflexes, I’ve got friends that are proud they are computer illiterate. They’re actually proud. I’m not proud of it. I actually am computer illiterate because of my eyes and ears and my age, a great part, but I understand and I appreciate what’s going on in the world.’

Tommy took things a step further, too, dishing on the positive impact he’s witnessed just from his three - now four-year-old - granddaughter embracing gaming goals from an iPad.

‘I study my grandkids because I have the time. I’m a grandpa. I don’t have to change the diapers or anything. I can sit there and study them and I watch them and I watch my little granddaughter have her tantrums and go through all those things but to see how the iPad and the games for the children, how that calms them down.

What you’ve done, with these video games, you’ve excited the senses. You’ve got the hand and eye coordination going and you are promoting self-awareness to the littlest ones.

My little 3-year-old, well, she’s 4 now, she’s going to be a powerhouse in this world. She’ll always have knowledge because she knows where to go to get knowledge. This new generation is going to be - look what they got, man. In their hands with the cellphones, there’s a religious song, ‘He’s got the whole world in his hands.’ They’re talking about God - well, literally, we’ve got the whole universe in our hands.

We can sit there. We can see a star, go into our phone and point it at it and it’ll tell you which star you’re looking at. I mean, come on. ‘

Needless to say? Chong kept it 100 and didn’t end there. From talking about why linking up with Call of Duty made sense to how the pyramids were built, it’s nearly 30 minutes of awesomeness. Buckle up.

Call of Duty: Of course The Rock has an insane connection to 'Modern Warfare III'

As if you needed more reasons to get your hands on the newly launched Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, right? Turns out WWE Hall of Fame and Hollywood powerhouse Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is more than just riding behind the best shoot ‘em up first-person game on the market right now.

The Rock has an insane ‘Call of Duty’ connection

Rocky hit up his social media pages this past weekend to keep things more than 100 on his connection to the franchise. Notably? How about the fact Call of Duty’s C.O.D.E. Warrior Pack features an actual family member of his and why it’s more than vital to show support for the new drop.

This is my cousin, Ben @blankscenario, who I consider my brother - and this is incredible 🔥

Ben is a 16 year decorated Navy SEAL
Command member of SEAL TEAM 6
Multiple Bronze Stars
Purple Heart recipient

He served our great nation and now he serves the veteran community as the inspiration behind the
@CallOfDutyEndowment (C.O.D.E.) Warrior Pack, which incorporates his military service and our Samoan heritage.

Every purchase of the pack in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III goes directly towards the placement of U.S. and U.K. veterans in great jobs + careers.

His operator handle in the game is KOA KING.
KOA means WARRIOR is Samoan.
This whole thing is very cool and bad ass.

Love you “giggles” 🤭 🐸 🇺🇸

You’re an inspiration brother 💜

This is a phenomenal partnership.

Call of Duty: Just when you thought it was all about 'MW3' turns out there's a huge 20-year anniversary collaboration happening

Keeping it 100? It’s no accident you see Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III all over Attack The Culture today. I have maintained a solid relationship with the amazing people over at Activision and Call of Duty and my goodness - the honor it is to show endless love especially as the brand celebrates 20 years of going strong? Super touching. So how about geeking out over a massive CHARLY for Liga MX 2024 collaboration?

Keeping it 100? It’s no accident you see Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III all over Attack The Culture today. I have maintained a solid relationship with the amazing people over at Activision and Call of Duty and my goodness - the honor it is to show endless love especially as the brand celebrates 20 years of going strong? Super touching. So how about geeking out over a massive CHARLY for Liga MX 2024 collaboration?

Call of Duty celebrates 20 years teaming with CHARLY

From the years of growing the brand to having 2 massive decades in the books, it’s only right Call of Duty toots its own horn by linking with the popular Mexican brand to gear up for a huge rollout of uniforms inspired by legendary Call of Duty games and characters from throughout the years during the 2024 Liga MX Closing Tournament. 20 years of excellence while celebrating soccer and video game Culture alike? Awesomeness.

The collaboration will offer fans a unique opportunity to express their loyalty to both their favorite teams and the Call of Duty legacy in the form of a collection of ‘fan wear’ apparel, which includes streetwear clothing, soccer and casual footwear, as well as the official jerseys of the six First Division Liga MX clubs sponsored by CHARLY: Club Tijuana Xoloitzcuintles de Caliente, Santos Laguna, Club León, Club Pachuca, Querétaro Fútbol Club and Atlas Fútbol Club.

"We are celebrating the 20th anniversary of Call of Duty with a collaboration that is a reflection of the love for the franchise, and the passion of our community. Call of Duty pushes to deliver breakthrough experiences to amaze our players in unique ways, and we couldn't be more excited for fans to show their passion for Call of Duty and soccer alike” said Rafael Tello, Sr. Director, Regional Lead, LatAm.

"This collaboration with CHARLY is a celebration of the franchise, with every piece of the collection taking the fans into account, regardless of the moment when their love for Call of Duty began," said Rodrigo Perez, Director of Product Management for Call of Duty Latin America.

“When we create an alliance, we always prioritize the interests of our fans and by doing in-depth research through our digital ecosystems, we learned that our soccer audience loves video games and that in Mexico the shooter genre is a fan favorite, leading the market with 45% above sports, strategy and others.” Commented Jesús Salazar, Sports Marketing Manager at CHARLY.

Each piece of this collection has a unique identity inspired by Call of Duty; but specifically for the official jerseys of the Liga MX clubs, special considerations were taken to celebrate the most iconic aspects of the franchise, while paying tribute to the identity of each club:

Call of Duty: The new 'Modern Warfare 3' is giving '09 nostalgia vibes all over again

All of a sudden, it was 2009 again as our nostalgia spawned quicker than the loading screen for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. Greeted with a low-key disturbing introduction video, highlighting a Modern Warfare franchise-first Zombies mode, we were instantly hooked. Then brought to the Battle Pass main screen, it became apparent there is a whole lot to be invested in with MW3.

Sliding over to the homepage, our curiosity was increasingly peaked with the early access to the campaign, just one of a few options. We could also play Resurange Quads, Warzone Ranked Play, and 24/7 gameplay on the classic “Shipment” map that we’ve fallen in love with over the years. Even typing this, we’re just hyped up over at Attack The Culture!

We can’t even write enough about this nostalgic feeling. Over the years, a lot of Call of Duty fans have been wondering if the iconic franchise was going to return to its roots at some point, especially with next-gen consoles. The simple answer? They have.

The updated graphics and engaging gameplay has left us with an immediate thrill. Personally, there’s no doubt this is an exciting release. In full honesty, many COD releases have left users feeling unsatisfied in recent years. This game, however, leaves little more to be desired! Thirty updated guns, thrilling skins and maps tacked on new game modes and gameplay features are just one of the many factors in making this a no-doubt 2023 hit. Don’t overlook the 16 launch maps in Modern Warfare 3, all remastered from the OG classic Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, either.

The excitement is back, the madness has returned. No matter your style of play, there’s something in MW3 for you. Even during our review, it was hard to focus—there was too much action! Locked into a Capture The Flag match on “Shipment” with a nonstop hail of pandemonium and madness, there was no shot (no pun intended) we were going to pause the game to write this up. Several matches later, we’re still impressed.

Campaign mode is just the same; exhilarating! The story picks up where it left off in Modern Warfare 2, as we saw in this new title’s trailer. Once again focused on Vladimir Makarov, the main antagonist of the original Modern Warfare franchise, MW3 is described by Activision in a new light: "operations ranging from signature, cinematic experiences to free-form Open Combat Missions."

Open Combat Missions allow players to essentially customize their own campaign! Gamers have their choice of method for completing missions, whether they’d like to go in stealthily and sneak up on the enemy, or make their presence known with explosives and machine guns. As long as you get the job done, right?

Don’t think we forgot about Zombies, either. For the first time, Zombies is coming to Modern Warfare with the Dark Aether storyline from Treyarch. It’s not quite the same as traditional Zombies mode that has been round-based, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Players will enter an open-world experience with interactive survival elements for added thrills.

And finally, about Call of Duty headquarters… Activision has revealed that the franchise will have one single hub for all gameplay moving forward. Titled the Call of Duty HQ, fans who use the hub will be able to access Modern Warfare 2, Warzone, Modern Warfare 3, and future Call of Duty games all in one spot.

There’s a lot to be thrilled about in anticipation of November 10th, and it’s apparent COD is making a big push to return to old times as a FPS juggernaut—their efforts have seemingly worked with this one. See you on the battlefield!

Call of Duty: Of course 'The Boys' are all about Season 04 Reloaded

No offense - but there’s really no other first-person shooter game on the same level as what Call of Duty delivers on a yearly basis and at the rate of these season updates, a monthly basis, too. With the hype ignited for Modern Warfare II and Warzone Season 04 Reloaded going down July 12, it’s only right to lose your mind to buzz about Prime Video hit series ‘The Boys’ getting thrown into the mix.

With the hype ignited for Modern Warfare II and Warzone Season 04 Reloaded going down July 12, it’s only right to lose your mind to buzz about Prime Video hit series ‘The Boys’ getting thrown into the mix.

The ‘Boys’ are back with help from ‘Call of Duty’ Season 04

From new weapon load outs to insanely cool game modes, it’s all the fun you’ve come to expect from Activision’s epic franchise with a twist of ‘The Boys’ involved.

Launching this Wednesday, July 12, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II and Warzone Season 04 Reloaded will bring Operators from the hit Amazon Prime Video show, The Boys, 72 player Battle Royale in Vondel, a new Gulag, the epic conclusion to Special Ops Raid Atomgrad, a new Multiplayer Map, and much more!

Check out what Season 04 Reloaded has to offer:

Warzone Overview:

·     Welcome to Battle Royale in Vondel. Resurgence will still be around, but for those Operators prepared for a traditional, high-intensity Battle Royale… Vondel is about to welcome up to 72 players to see which one – or which team – can conquer the city.

·     Enter the New Gulag. Call of Duty veterans can make themselves feel at home in Vondel Castle’s wine cellar and dungeon, but anyone can learn how to master this arena for 1v1 duels.

·     Additional Features. The Occupation Scan is coming back, along with the Signals Intelligence Contract, and the Portable Redeploy Drone, all scheduled to be released within the Reloaded launch window.

Modern Warfare II Overview:

·     It’s Last Down. But Task Force 141 isn’t doomed. Welcome to the grand reveal of RAID: Atomgrad Episode 04, the epic conclusion to TF141’s Special Operations in Modern Warfare II.

·     Might Turn into a Ghost… Because that Ultimate Perk can be great on Vondel Waterfront, the new Multiplayer map where stealth maneuvers are your focus , rather than swimming underneath houseboats as you would in Vondel. Be a true 141 Operator and plan accordingly.

·     Time to Play the Game. Ranked Play Season 04 is in full swing, and you have plenty of time – but not too much time – to complete the Battle Pass and reach the maximum Prestige Rank until Season 05 begins!

Across both titles:

·     Supes vs. Soldiers - The Boys Invade Call of Duty. Homelander, Starlight, and Black Noir have arrived, and they brought a few surprises to the Call of Duty universe.

·     MX Guardian: Need something "up close and personal?" Unlocked via challenge through the Battle Pass, this highly versatile full-auto shotgun is limited only by its effective range… Otherwise it's ready to deliver some devastating knockout blows.

·     More In Store. Whisker Tango and two Tracer Packs highlight the rest of the in-game Store. Also, get the free Prime Gaming Bundle before it rotates out on July 20.

It’s one thing to game and it’s another to go all-out, guns blazing in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II with the newly launched season three and a must-own BlackCell Bundle. If there’s one thing you can count on from Activision at this point, it’s the fact there’s always a unique and solid twist to the best franchise available.

The BlackCell Bundle is must-own, must-play and must-experience

Must-everything? You bet. With Season 03 officially here for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, this new bundle pack comes with a $29.99 price tag but delivers on endless levels. All below details come from the amazing team over at Call of Duty. Stay frosty, gamers.

Step up to a higher class of combat excellence.

BlackCell represents a new premium offering that goes beyond the Battle Pass Bundle in Call of Duty®: Modern Warfare® II and Call of Duty®: Warzone™ 2.0, granting exclusive items in addition to expedited Battle Pass progression for $29.99 MSRP (or your regional equivalent).

BlackCell: An Overview

A Battle Pass Bundle and Pro Pack combined with even more items, BlackCell is a premium offering that provides incredible value – over 7,000* COD Points in value – to be used across both games:

Battle Pass BlackCell Sector, Token Tier Skips

The BlackCell Sector offers a unique entry point to the rest of the Battle Pass Map that allows you to unlock higher value items (higher tiered Battle Pass items) more quickly and instantly grants you the BlackCell Operator attired in an imposing animated Camo skin, Pro-Tuned Weapon Blueprint, Vehicle Skin, Finishing Move, and 1,100 CP bonus.

You can also take advantage of the 20 Battle Token Tier Skips (25 on PlayStation®) that BlackCell comes with, and immediately unlock one of the two free functional weapons available in the Battle Pass.

You can also unlock more than a dozen other items within the Battle Pass, including COD Points, Operator Skins, Weapon Blueprints, and Vehicle Skins by using these Battle Token Tier Skips to move proficiently and rapidly across the AO within the Battle Pass.

The regular Battle Pass will still be available each season for 1,100 COD Points. You can also upgrade to BlackCell at any point and receive those 1,100 COD Point back in addition to all the BlackCell content.

Immediate Item Unlocks, Including New Operator and Weapon Blueprint

BlackCell owners also get a number of immediate unlocks as well as the Battle Pass purchase, including the BlackCell’s very own Operator, known as Atom.

The BlackCell have their own armorer that can handcraft incredible Weapon Blueprints, too. In Season 03’s BlackCell Sector, you can get your hands on the “Singularity” Assault Rifle Pro-Tuned Blueprint, a five-attachment all-around beast of a weapon.

The “Singularity” Pro-Tuned Blueprint, comes with an extended magazine to help deal with multiple hostiles, a reflex optic for a precise sight picture, and a trio of attachments that help keep recoil and aiming stability in check: a brake, an angled grip, and a heavy barrel. All these attachments also come Pro-Tuned, meaning an Operator will have this weapon’s full potential unlocked straight out of the armory.

And when it comes to riding in style, the BlackCell make their mark on any Heavy Tank with a new Vehicle Skin, one of two additional instant unlocks in this Blackcell Sector alongside a new Finishing Move

Special Season 03 Bonus Operator Skins

For Season 03, all BlackCell owners will receive a Bonus series of BlackCell-only Battle Pass items available as exclusive additional unlocks on top of the regular Battle Pass content, within the AO Sectors. These include a dozen additional Operator Skins, all themed around the sleek black-and-gold aesthetic of the new addition to the Operator roster.

The bonus BlackCell Skins for each of the Battle Pass operator skins, including Ghost, Soap, and other favorite Operators across KorTac and SpecGru, unlocked with every Operator Skin unlock in the Battle Pass. For example: if the Battle Pass includes an Operator Skin in Sector C1, then BlackCell owners get BOTH that skin PLUS an exclusive BlackCell Operator Skin, which may or may not be for the same Operator.

1,100 COD Points Bonus

The value does not stop there for those who decide to be a part of BlackCell:

As previously mentioned, in addition to accessing up to 1,400 COD Points through the full Battle Pass, BlackCell includes an instant unlock of 1,100 COD Points within the BlackCell Sector that can be used on any other Bundle in the Store.

Just in Season 03 alone, the 1,100 COD Point Battle Pass, plus 3,000 COD Points’ worth of Battle Token Tier Skips, and 1,100 COD Points in BlackCell sector with the free items immediately on purchase for over 7,000* COD Points in value.

Consider picking up BlackCell when Season 03 launches on April 12 in Modern Warfare® II and WarzoneTM 2.0. For more intel on what this season has to offer outside this new Bundle, check out the full season announcement here.

Stay frosty.

*BlackCell sector value based on comparable in-game store bundles.
