Tommy Chong: The 'Cheech & Chong' legend promises gaming goals can positively impact your life
Could you use one for the record books? Holy smokes. The legend himself - Tommy Chong - of Cheech & Chong fame of course - taking the time to chop it up with Attack The Culture about all things Call of Duty tracer pack drops, how gaming is life and how those digital goals can actually positively spark up progression in your own personal grind? Oh yes. It’s an exclusive you have to embrace from start to finish.
Cheech & Chong’s Tommy Chong keeps it 100 on how gaming goals are life-changing in a good way
Getting the chance to talk to Tommy and get into his state of mind at the ripe age of his mid-80’s? Beyond amazing and his wisdom is as sharp as ever - so it only made it right to get his take on the growing popularity of video games and why opps trying to trash gaming goals should re-think their stance.
‘It improves your reflexes when you’re playing. The hand and body and eye coordination. You’re constantly doing that. I’ve got people in my family, my little granddaughter, she’s more adapt at the iPad than I am and she’s 3 years old and she’ll take my iPad, flip it up and get her favorite shows and everything else.
It’s done so much to help everyone, especially children, get that eye and hand coordination going. Being able to use their hands and minds for the reflexes, I’ve got friends that are proud they are computer illiterate. They’re actually proud. I’m not proud of it. I actually am computer illiterate because of my eyes and ears and my age, a great part, but I understand and I appreciate what’s going on in the world.’
Tommy took things a step further, too, dishing on the positive impact he’s witnessed just from his three - now four-year-old - granddaughter embracing gaming goals from an iPad.
‘I study my grandkids because I have the time. I’m a grandpa. I don’t have to change the diapers or anything. I can sit there and study them and I watch them and I watch my little granddaughter have her tantrums and go through all those things but to see how the iPad and the games for the children, how that calms them down.
What you’ve done, with these video games, you’ve excited the senses. You’ve got the hand and eye coordination going and you are promoting self-awareness to the littlest ones.
My little 3-year-old, well, she’s 4 now, she’s going to be a powerhouse in this world. She’ll always have knowledge because she knows where to go to get knowledge. This new generation is going to be - look what they got, man. In their hands with the cellphones, there’s a religious song, ‘He’s got the whole world in his hands.’ They’re talking about God - well, literally, we’ve got the whole universe in our hands.
We can sit there. We can see a star, go into our phone and point it at it and it’ll tell you which star you’re looking at. I mean, come on. ‘
Needless to say? Chong kept it 100 and didn’t end there. From talking about why linking up with Call of Duty made sense to how the pyramids were built, it’s nearly 30 minutes of awesomeness. Buckle up.

It all ends now - or at least in the coming hours with Call of Duty: Warzone wrapping up its final season with Last Stand as the anticipation for Modern Warfare II grows even stronger.
There’s no better way to geek out about August 24 than taking a look at what’s on deck for when you lace up those digital boots and arsenal of toys before going all-out on the gaming goals. Here’s a round up of what’s waiting on the horizon.
In Warzone beginning with Last Stand, Operators will notice Caldera’s biggest new feature the moment they take off for deployment: The island’s Peak has been transformed by increasing volcanic activity. Lava flows down its slopes, hardening into molten rock, altering the mountain’s geography in several locations from the top to its base.
Beware: Hot Lava! Watch your step when battling in and around the Peak. Stick your feet in the lava and you’ll start taking heavy damage. Get out at all costs!
Redeploy, Take a Ride. Take advantage of one of the many Redeploy Balloons set up around Caldera’s Peak to reposition in a pinch, or get away completely by taking control of one of the many vehicles found near the top.
Gondola Still Operable. A little magma won’t shut down this famed attraction. Take an easy ride to the top of the Peak as the rest of the Operators blast away at each other while playing hopscotch over lava flows.
Players will be challenged with saving Caldera in a Search and Destroy-inspired limited time mode that supports 80 players divided into 20 teams of four, whereby they can choose to either defuse or detonate various bombs throughout the island.
Last Stand also brings new ways to earn loot and conduct battle, from the Doomsday Station to the Rage Serum and other new items.

Is there any area of the entertainment game Snoop Dogg doesn’t invade? Turns out the legendary hip-hop artist’s presence is going to be all over Call of Duty this spring starting April 1.
Snoop Dogg’s in the Call of Duty universe
The hip-hop heavyweight is headed to all three COD games - Mobile, Vanguard and Warzone. The hype is real and Snoop’s already confirmed the big news.
"The D O Double G is back in Call of Duty and this time I’m in the freakin’ game! Excited to be working with the COD team to bring some fly features for you all to enjoy. It’s dope."
Snoop Dogg’s Lucky Draw
If you’re not really about the next generation gaming, the mobile version of Snoop is going to keep you locked and loaded on the fly. He’s set to appear in ‘Lucky Draw’ starting next month.
This Lucky Draw will include a Snoop Dogg Operator for Call of Duty: Mobile, which has him decked out head-to-toe in a 24K gold embroidered outfit. It also includes a new signature weapon based on a fast-firing Legendary SMG that’s gold-plated and diamond-encrusted. Light up your enemies under the lights of a mini-concert with this weapon’s unique death effect, and see your iced out weapon get even flashier as you earn eliminations. (COD)
Snoop Dogg’s Vanguard and Warzone
For everyone else, it’s all about the Xbox Series and PlayStation 5 experience. Snoop will have his presence felt all over the place with a major bundle set for mid-April.
Meanwhile, over in Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone, the Snoop Dogg Operator Bundle will be available on April 19 at 10 AM PT. And just so we’re clear on high-level details: the Snoop Dogg in Vanguard and Warzone is separate from the Snoop Dogg in Call of Duty: Mobile.
The Warzone and Vanguard Snoop Dogg Operator Bundle will include ten items — three exclusive to Vanguard — and a full Operator progression track. Rewards across these 20 levels of Operator progression include Weapon XP for Snoop’s preferred weapon from Vanguard, three alternate outfits, and other cosmetic items.
This won’t be the first time Snoop Dogg dropped into Call of Duty, as fans will remember his Snoop Dogg Voiceover Pack in Call of Duty®: Ghosts. Snoop’s voice — with all new lines recorded for his very own Operator — returns to Call of Duty in the Snoop Dogg Operator Bundle for Vanguard and Warzone.
Years ago, Snoop entered the world of Call of Duty with a voice over pack for Ghosts.
