Kanye West’s ‘DONDA’ is sitting on a billi
Less than 3 months after reaching the masses, the project has hit the epic achievement in what feels like record time.
‘DONDA’ is still evolving
The hip-hop star is reportedly still making changes and edits to the studio project’s overall sound. According to reports, the power of streaming services has allowed Ye to switch up how the album has formed. While details are still coming together, there are some noticeable changes including the disappearance of crooner Chris Brown’s presence.
The tweaked version started appearing on streaming services late Monday into Tuesday and was swiftly spotted (and just as swiftly dissected) by fans, including—among others—the folks over at Watching the Throne. A listen through the new version of the album—which, at the time of this writing, was showing up as a separate album on Spotify and Apple Music—reveals noticeable mixing changes on several songs. Most notable is the removal of Chris Brown from “New Again” and KayCyy from “Keep My Spirit Alive.” (Complex)
SZA co-signs Kanye West firing his ‘DONDA’ engineer
West Coast crooner SZA knows how the business works. She recently went online to share a post addressing the stricter side of greatness and how a creative's process works. The Top Dawg Entertainment star put a post up on her Instagram Story regarding the firing of a Donda engineer by Kanye West for sleeping in hours late. Her post addressed how sacrifices are made for greatness and how the process is never an easy one.
Kanye West really fires his engineer
The music mogul has no time for games, hence the reason for SZA’s post. After an iCloud hack, new texts have emerged of a Donda engineer getting the boot after being unable to pull up for a music grind due to sleeping in late.
Kanye reportedly texted the engineer in the morning to get working, but he never received a response. Two hours later he sent another text about firing the person on the receiving end, to which they responded about not waking up in time. Mr. West then hilariously told them to “stop texting” and “go find God,” which he added would be the one condition in which they could come back.
