Kehlani: The R&B hitmaker breaks her silence and explains 'horribly twisted' legal drama with her ex

Normally I sway away from super gossip-driven and messy storylines but I will always have a soft spot for anything directly impacting families and people attempting to clear their names from horrendous narratives. So it’s only right to shine more than just light on crooner Kehlani in her determination to end wild speculation involving her legal battle over her daughter.

Kehlani steps up to keep things 100 on her daughter and the drama

While buzz ignited this past summer over her former flame’s demand for custody of their daughter, recent coverage for Lani has painted her image as everything from cult-centered to overly possessive. She took to Instagram to clear things up and defend her image.

‘a lighthearted conversation with who i consider family about a silly reading i got became horribly twisted and i can’t stand by and watch it anymore. here’s how the conversation actually went and the rest is left for court. this is beyond. can’t be silent about this issue anymore.’

Babyface and Kehlani connect in Seamless fashion on new song

There’s no slowing down what Babyface is cooking up these days. As the countdown for his Girls Night Out album continues to heat up, the veteran crooner pulls through with help from Kehlani on their new ‘Seamless’ anthem.

There’s no slowing down what Babyface is cooking up these days. As the countdown for his Girls Night Out album continues to heat up, the veteran crooner pulls through with help from Kehlani on their new ‘Seamless’ anthem.

Babyface and Kehalni body their Seamless hit

The duo perfectly fit on the latest tune off his upcoming album. It also follows his recent collaboration with fellow crooner and United Kingdom musician Ella Mai.

Twelve-time GRAMMY® Award winner Babyface and multi-Platinum singer-songwriter Kehlani team up on “Seamless,” released today by Capitol Records. The song offers a frank look at a night out that’s filled with drama, thanks to a partner who always makes a scene. Kehlani takes the lead on vocals, with Babyface on backing vocals. They wrote the track – which is from Babyface’s forthcoming project, Girls Night Out – with The Rascals (Drake, Chris Brown, Ariana Grande), who produced alongside Babyface.

“I worked with Kehlani many years ago and I am just so proud of who she has become as an artist and also how well she knows herself and her fans,” says Babyface. “I am really honored to have her collaborate with me many years later for such a special project and I love the song we created. Kehlani is one of one and a true superstar.”

“Seamless” follows Babyface’s collaboration with Ella Mai, “Keeps On Fallin,’”which is the first single from Girls Night Out. Vibe praised “Keeps On Fallin’” as “dreamy” and ThisIsRnB hailed it as a “classic Babyface track, with a modern R&B vibe.”

Girls Night Out, which will be released on October 21, is a sonic journey through love, heartbreak and all of the emotions in between. The album features the legendary singer/songwriter/producer’s collaborations with some of today’s brightest female R&B stars, including Queen Naija, Ari Lennox, Doechii and many others. Like his iconic Waiting to Exhale soundtrack, the new project taps into a range of subject matter as each of his collaborators share stories from their personal point of views and experiences.
