"I Can't Lie" being the first soundtrack single for French Montana’s highly anticipated documentary FOR KHADIJA premiering at Tribeca Film Festival on June 16th sets the tone for the film. The documentary provides an intimate look into French Montana's life, chronicling his rise to stardom, personal struggles as an immigrant from Morocco, and his profound achievements since coming to America.

Need more details on what For Khadija is all about? Curious about what French Montana has been up to these past few months? Say less.

FOR KHADIJA chronicles the unlikely rise of Moroccan-born, multi-platinum recording artist French Montana, as his single mother she sacrifices everything to raise her three young sons in the Bronx, after being abandoned by their father and left destitute. The film spans the globe as it depicts the family's unique immigrant journey, a son's perseverance in the face of insurmountable obstacles, and a mother's unwavering faith - all in pursuit of the American dream.

Moroccan-born, Bronx-raised rapper, French Montana, is a 3x Grammy Award-nominated, Diamond-certified rapper, humanitarian influencer, and philanthropist, actively fighting for global healthcare efforts in Uganda as GLOBAL CITIZEN’s first-ever rap ambassador. Some artists blur genres, but French Montana blurs borders. His inimitable fusion of classic East Coast rhymes, wavy pop swagger, and international ambition elevated him to the forefront of the game on a global scale.

Recently, Montana officially became the most streamed African Artist in history, a massive milestone in his already successful career. He also released Coke Boys 6: Money Heist Edition, the sixth tape in the Coke Boys series, which debuted #1 and #3 on iTunes Top Albums and #2 on Spotify’s Top Album Debuts in the US. Upon release, CB6: Money Heist Edition debuted #1 and #3 on iTunes Top Albums and #2 on Spotify’s Top Album Debuts in the US. The album also reached #1 selling R&B/Hip-Hop album of the week, and #1selling independent album of the week during its debut week.

Over the years, French has built an indie empire with his Cocaine City imprint. Only speaking Arabic and French at a young age, his family immigrated to New York where he learned English and the language of hip-hop became a catalyst for him. He quickly embraced the culture, became enthralled with it, and began releasing the Cocaine City series of DVDs in 2002. Montana released his platinum-certified debut studio album Excuse My French in 2013, which peaked at #1 on the Hip Hop and R&B album charts. His second studio album, Jungle Rules, in 2017 peaked at number 3 on the Billboard charts and also received platinum certification. 10x platinum and Diamond certified record “Unforgettable” (Featuring Swae Lee) was the lead single of this album sparking an international dance challenge, which led French to partner with Mama Hope and Global Citizen to improve one of their hospitals in Uganda.

Kodak Black’s arrest reports

A few days ago, buzz generated over Kodak possibly dealing with some serious controlled substance-related issues. NBC News has dug deep into the details on what allegedly happened.

Rapper Kodak Black was arrested Friday during a traffic stop in Florida, the state Highway Patrol said. Black, a Florida native whose real name is Bill K. Kapri, was driving in Fort Lauderdale in a purple Dodge Durango with window tints that appeared darker than the legal limit, according to Florida Highway Patrol. A check showed that the vehicle's registration was expired. Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol pulled Black over, officials said. Troopers said they could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle. During a search, the troopers found nearly $75,000 in cash and a small clear bag that contained 31 white tablets later determined to be oxycodone, according to highway patrol.

Florida rapper Kodak Black really wants to put his music to the test. The rap heavyweight is either taking capping to new heights or truly believes he stands a chance at doing a Verzuz against the living hip-hop icon JAY-Z with some serious repercussions on both sides.

Kodak Black’s up for a JAY-Z Verzuz

KB hit up his social media pages to share his thoughts on going head to head with Young Hov. But instead of making it about respect, Black believes some major possessions are needed based on who wins.

“I’ll do a versus wit Jay Z “IF” he win he get 15 % of my catalog ! I win he make me Vice President of roc nation”

Black went back to his Twitter page to possibly downplay the tweet’s seriousness and reference folks coming at him over his Twitter fingers.

“I Love All My Fans & Supporters ! Love To Receive New Fans ! Love All Da Motivation & Inspiration , I Hate The Hating Can’t Take It I Jus Love When Everybody Love Me & Say I’m They Favorite”

JAY-Z believes he’s unstoppable even in a Verzuz battle

Despite potential matchups including Kanye West and Eminem or even Snoop Dogg being fan-suggested, the Jigga man recently said he couldn’t see himself with any worthy opponent on the grand Verzuz stage.

“No one can stand on that stage with me. It’s not a chance in hell that anyone can stand on that stage with me.”

JAY-Z is a fan of the Verzuz series though

Young Hov might not see any competition but he does know how to hand out accolades. JAY saluted The LOX’s Jadakiss for recently putting on an epic bout with his crew against Verzuz rival group Dipset.

“That’s one of the best performances of the year.”
